I haven't been here for a while. I have just got back home from a really big sailing event in France. Like two others in my fleet of little sail-oar boats, I slept aboard. It was impossible to get a shower for the whole week, only an apology for a daily wash at a washbasin in the toilet cabins.
I tied up my hair for the whole week, letting it down when not sailing to try to get it a little drier. Sea salt gets into the hair and brushing becomes a nightmare. If they just provided cold showers at the ports where I could rinse my hair in water alone, that would have been something. One often finds them on beaches for swimmers.
One lovely thing about getting home was washing my hair and getting it truly dry and soft. So I'm still here and my hair is intact...

Hi Anthony,
No worries about taking time off from the net, which includes the mlhh, to enjoy what is known as "the real world" :)
Perfectly understandable as we all need to do that on occasion.Sounds like you had a great time in spite of the lack of hair care for a week. It's too bad there weren't any fresh water showers available like they normally have at the beaches.Still as long as you took some precautions you can minimize the damage which it sounds like you achieved my friend. If by any chance you grabbed a few pictures it would be cool to see some posted.Great hearing from you and glad to have you and your hair back safe and sound.Cheers
Mârk
Thanks for your kind words.
.I took no selfies, though one person took photos of me in my boat and promised to send them by e-mail.I agree, when your hair is constantly damp and full of sea salt and grease, avoid trying to do too much to it. The only real solution is fresh water washing.Anthony
