Here's my almost 20 month update, only 4 months shy of 2 years. I have taken the no-cut approach and just let it grow naturally.

My blog
What a drastic difference between now and the start of your hair growing journey. Looking good Anthony! :)
You are doing great yourself. I don't know where the time has gone! It will soon be two years for me and more than a foot long...
Anthony
Simply AMAZING, Anthony, your hair has grown by leaps & bounds since you last shared an update!
It's looking *better* than ever, not just "longer than ever!"
Thanks for the 20 month update!

Thanks. Yes, after a fairly slow period, it has picked up again and gives me a lovely feeling on my upper back when I take my shirt off. I won't be long until I will be sending in my 2-year update - and it is summer here.
The awkward stage is over, but I still need a headband for sailing!

Hi Anthony,
Great update and philosophy on the way you handled the growing out of your mane.It pains me when I see posts about guys who give up too early or are constantly hell bent on doing maintenance trims. Just let it grow!!!! It's not like the sky is gonna fall if your hair gets a little unruly.Get some "real length" before doing any trims is the way I feel.Of course I don't need to be telling you this but for some others......hint hint ;) Cheers

Thanks for the kind words. It is indeed a question of philosophy, not expecting everything to be perfect. I notice this with women. They like to cut flowers from their roots, put them in a vase and arrange them. I prefer to see them in nature and in their own place. They fuss about wanting everything to conform to their ideas. I respect things as they are and just look after them as necessary. I am more "Romantic" than "Classical" in that I attach more importance to the creative imagination than excessive rationalism.
My wife goes on about how my hair has thinned, and that trimming would have improved thickness. Crap! I was thinning on top when I had very short hair. It has never been better until now.
It will be a long time before I start with trims, and I would like to keep a V shape down my back. It's only 20 months and I count on at least 3 years to get anywhere near the length I want...

I must say, it's looking real awesome Anthony, don't give up and continue growing it.
What a drastic difference from just a "common" guy to an awesome long-haired man.
Keep up and take care my friend!
Cheers!
Thanks. I intend to continue. The old symbolism of long hair on a man and cropping a slave's or prisoner's head is so true. You too, boa sorte!
Anthony
Looking absolutely wonderful buddy!!
Hi Anthony,
Wow! You have made some serious progress! And your hair is just looking so good! I just love the color and texture! I sure hope you let it grow very long! I can just imagine you with classic length hair-that would be awesome! Please keep it growing and be well my friend!

Hey Anthony. Wow, it looks great! It seems that it has grown fast all of a sudden! Next step mid back?
