I took the plunge today and bought some ooconut oil.
ORS brand from CVS.
Now am I correct that it should be applied to the ends only,
not to the scalp even though it says to use it on the scalp?
When should I use it? How long should it be left in?
And do I just leave it in or shampoo it out?
(I should note that I don't use shampoo, just use conditioner.
I buy my Coconut Oil by the pint at the grocery store and I have used maybe 2 inches in the pint jar since I started in March of this year. Used for cooking is organic and I like it just fine I don't know about CVS. directions will be different from each source. I do not apply to the scalp directly during regular maintenance. Your fingers will spread it out evenly with a few swipes through your locks.
Here is how I apply it: a spot the size of a dime in the palm of your hand. Rub vigorously for 5 second to melt it on your hands (getting to much will only drip on the counter you cannot put on to much that is why I said a spot the size of a dime) apply after towel drying to the ends and then work it all the way to the scalp using your fingers only. Wipe the residue from your hands on your beards (I have a full very short beard) finger combing your locks is all that needs to be done. About once a month or when I feel like it reasons like going out for a run and you know that you will sweat and shower when you come back apply to your hair dry and leave it in when sweating it is an amazing conditioner. Just do what feels good you can direct your application as needed.
During regular use leave it in depending on the texture wavy hair with body might look stringy but when it naturally dries will be fine. Keep those locks growing to terminal you will not be sorry.
Thank you.
