Hey everyone!
5 months in on my hair journey to shoulder length
I was wondering if you all have tried MSM or gelatin for hair growth?
I have been taking fish oil, a multivitamin and biotin, but I hear MSM or gelatin is good too.
Thanks!
I can't say how good those supplements are at increasing hair growth, but from what I've read, they're all good for the hair, so are worth trying. I did recently try a hair growth rate-increasing idea called the "Inversion Method" (google it). From measurements, I believe my hair did grow considerably faster than usual, though not as fast as some claim who've done it. I'll post a detailed report on the hyperboard in a couple of weeks. You can only do this method one week a month, so I'm going to take measurements weekly for a full month to have a clear idea of growth increase.
"For those wondering; The Inversion test/method entails putting your head upside down for about 4 minutes after you have massaged it with warm oils for 7days and it claims that your hair will grow 1 inch longer after 7 days as supposed to waiting 2 months to gain an inch of growth- read HERE for more details."
Color me very doubtfull on this.
Apparently this is not be confused with inversion therapy for your back. There are tv ads airing for that.
Has anyone actually had sucess doing this?
Your intended embedded link didn't em bed.
As I said in the previous post, I did it for one week exactly as prescribed. By my measurement I had growth of about 1/3", which is quite a lot for a week. My hair seems to grow relatively fast this time of the year anyway, but base on a control measurement I did the week before, the Inversion Method increased my growth by at least 1/8"-1/4" over normal.
One thing I noticed about all the blog posts and YouTube videos I saw on it was that none of them bothered to check their growth rate the week before starting the Inversion Method. If you try it I suggesting doing that.
I was impressed enough I'm probably going to do again for a few months at least (you can only do it one week a month). One nice side effect is you get a lot of nice shine to your hair after 7 days of oil treatments. Actually, after a day or two I realized you want to use as little oil as you can just for massaging into the scalp.
I'll start a thread with a full report here in a couple of weeks. I want to measure growth for a full month (3 weeks after the Inversion Method week).
I am far to busy to bother with foolishness like this. I use over the counter natural products from the grocery store and a good shampoo when I use soap or conditioner. All these hair supplement products do is add to the bottom line of someone else's pocket. I am in total favor of a reasonable diet, avoiding nicotine and salt could help but if you don't then there is no way to tell. I once heard that Beer will help with hair growth so I have a glass or three a day just to be sure and yup my hair is growing. Sorry my giggles got the best of me.
