Hey Bros,
I would like to ask your advise. I would like to use olive oil to enhance hair growth and health. What do I do?
Thanks!
Raymond
Hi Raymond,
I've only used olive oil in 2 separate ways: 1) for cooking and eating (olive oil is a great ingredient in homemade salad dressings, for example); 2) applying a small amount (the size of a coin) into your hands, rubbing your hands together, and then massaging the oil into the ends of your hair.
Use #1 is for health -- olive oil for eating. Use #2 does not enhance hair "growth", per se; it just helps to protect and moisturize your hair ends, helping to avoid split ends.
Hey Ken,
Thanks for the advise. I'll try massaging it into the ends of my
hair.
Raymond
Hey Raymond,
Olive oil is a natural hair straightener. If you have curly hair and want a straightened perm-like effect without frying your hair or going to a salon (I prefer to avoid salons as much as possible) the olive oil will definitely deliver. Just don't put on too much or it will look like a mess.
Hey Native Carolinian,
Thanks for the information, bro. I didn't know that olive oil is a natural hair straightener. I was going to take Ken in SF's advise and try the olive oil on the ends of my hair to protect from split ends. I have naturally wavy to curly hair. I perceive that my hair is slowly growing and sometimes it gets a little curly. I like the look. I will post some pics of my hair without olive oil and my hair with a little bit of olive oil on the ends.
I recently had a pacemaker implanted over my left pectoral. The pacemaker serves as a milestone for my hair. Until recently my hair was collar bone length. Now I can pull my hair below my pacemaker. I think my hair is still growing.
Thanks again for the information,
Raymond
Raymond take it internally I use .5 of one ounce before I have coffee in the morning every day. I started to use it when I found it suggested on a sight that I found by GOOGLING THE QUESTION. I use Coconut Oil (the size of a dime not more than one time a week) more than a dime size and you will have oil all over the place when it easily melts in your hands. Towel dry your hair and then work it in the ends will seem stringy at first but then use a wide comb and they will look more natural.
You can use Almond Oil on the outside but only for about 2 hours then you will need to shampoo it out it is very heavy and it looks horrid but it works. Shampoo with a tiny amount of soap and rinse in cool water. I have not used it I only read about it on YES GOOGLE.
Now back to Olive Oil. I suggest that you locate a place that sells COLD PRESSED OIL the seller will know what this is if they have it. Call around till you find the place the sells it. Extra Virgin will work but I am told that this is better. .5 of an ounce is not much take it internally and forget that you have been using it all together. It does take getting used to so have coffee ready to drown the taste until you are ready to take it Commando. I found that in 3 months your dry scalp will not itch as much if it was itching. You will loose less hair in your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be stronger at the roots and your hair will have a natural shine that you have not seen before. I started using it in my diet in March or April when I learned of this process. Like most any new idea it will take time to see real results and the results will be that you won't see what you had been seeing in the waste bin and comb. Silverthorne
Hey Silverthorne AKA Daniel,
Thanks much for the information. You've given me much to work with.

Hi Raymond
I use olive oil as the main ingredient in both shampoo and conditioner. This is mixed in with avocado oil and others in Kiehls Olive Fruit Oil Shampoo and Olive Fruit Oil Conditioner. Nice silk feel after using both of these. I let the conditioner set in for about 10 minutes before rinsing. I consume bottles of olive oil over the summer when cooking veggie garden production in sauce pans. This Mediterranean diet adds to healthy hair as a substitute to butter, margarine, and mayonnaise.
