Hi all.
As I was getting tired from having mini-mullet at the back(growing for 11 months) I decided to cut 2 inches off the back to make it look nicer(BTW:I love the result :) and also eases the heat of the summer).
I only have one worry:since I didn't want to cut too much I cut the hair while it was dry and had to use force with the scissors to cut the mini-ponytail at the back-will it cause split ends(I take good care of my hair BTW-conditioning and shampooing)at the back?
Also, what causes split ends in general?
Thanks,
Adi.
For those of u wondering:I used the term mini-ponytail because i tied it to a small ponytail at the back so it will be easier to know how much hair to cut.
That is the same thing i did, my hair was so thick the scissors wherent doing much so i got out this paring knife and had to like saw through it, after the little tail was off it was uneven a bit on the back so i held a mirroe behind my head and was looking in the mirroe aheead of me and i evend it up, everyone noticed it was cutt and they all said it was a big improment and they like it, they said it was getting to mullety lol, but split ends have never acoured back there.
hi..
well, i'm trying to get my hair long. my girl suggests cutting the ends so it will grow faster. does that really work? also.. i have REALLY thick hair. but i want long hair so bad. what can i do to make it look good? thanks a bunch.
Well,I'm no expert and u might want to post a message in the forum but:
AFAIK,cutting the ends won't make it grow faster(as a matter of fact it will make it slower since u cut growth) but only prevent split ends(but I think that something u should worry when ur hair is getting longish and not at the start).
I also have thick hair and what I did(and still do since I'm not out of the awkward stage yet) is using gel(should use non alchohol) and moisturizing cream to control my hair-now I need it less but unless I put something on my hair the hair strands are just moving with the wind when I go outside.:)
Again, I recommend posting again in the main forum and getting more responses.
Adi.
Cutting your hair will not make it grow faster, no. It's just an old wives tale, one we are all fed up of hearing I should guess.
Cutting you hair won't make it grow slower either it'll just take longer to get to the length you want.
The growth rate of hair can be affected by your well being and nourishment. Undernourished subjects have been show to have slowed down hair growth, so make sure you have a healthy balanced diet and this will help your hair grow at it's maximum potential.
Cheers
