After years of wearing my hair quite long, I decided to change it up and try a "shorter" hairstyle, "shorter" for me being a bit below shoulder length instead of at my waist, where it had been.
You can see the result in the photo. This is much easier to take care of and I've gotten many compliments on it, but I realized that I just feel more like myself with much longer hair. So I'm coming back, and next time I feel tempted to go short I'll remember how this felt. You guys can look forward to longer hair from me again in the future.
Incidentally, I forgot how ridiculously thick my hair is without length to weigh it down. I look like a blonde umbrella.
Hey Lucian,
In spite of the cut your hair still looks fantastic but of course I loved your waist length locks ☺️ As I'm sure you know we've had many guys here who did the same thing with their longer manes. It all boils down to a learning curve but you'll be fine my friend 😉 Cheers

Your hair still looks great from my perspective. I can't wait until my hair gets that long. Well, actually, I guess I will have to wait. Darn!
Dear Blonde Umbrella,
"Rest assured that your hair is growing back, even as we speak!" That is the exact sentence a friend of mine said to me back in Y2K, right after I impulsively cut off my waist-length hair back to short (deeply regretting the decision)...

OMG, I can't believe it.... I'm in shock....
I don't think you need to worry. Even though it is shorter, your hair is still lush and beautiful. You are still a long-hair. We all learn by trial and error, remembering that it takes a fraction of a second to cut a hair and it grows at an average of six inches a year.
Your length now is about what I would expect in at least a year from my present two-year mark. Keep calm and carry on! :)

Thanks for sharing your story! I've had similar thoughts, wanting to go shorter, just for a change. But I'm glad I didn't. I've heard of people regretting their decision after they cut their hair.
I think many people would love to have your volume! I don't think it looks bad, though and you will get used to your new hair length soon. Now you can enjoy going through the stages to waist length again!
Did you keep the cut hair.? Always looking for donations for doll repair workshop with young adults who are mentally challenged.
