Let me put it this way: I never smile in photos. I look like a dork when I smile. That has been my general policy now for
61 years.
I would also mention that I didn't smile in thie avatar since it is following a solemn ceremony to honor those who died in the civil war.
I'm with ya, I don't like to smile too because I think I look like an idiot and to be honest, I don't like my smile.
I tried to think of a non-snarky way of responding to this, so I'm going to go with a _possible_ reason, "maybe I was concentrating too much on getting the image to remember to smile."
This is an interesting thread as it has been a minor peeve of mine that many folks do not smile in their update photos....it never occurred to me that there were legitimate personal reasons not to smile.
