What do you all think of the perfectly straight across blunt trim look on men? It seems to be a style more common on women than men, but it looks cleaner and more polished, thoughts?
Do you mean the front of the back?
If the back I prefer the blunt cut rather than the V shape.
I like it!
Ideally, I'd have hair cut straight-across as if done with a straightedge. My hair is waist-length and I've trimmed it (slightly) a couple times in the past two years just to thicken up the ends and restore the blunt look.

I am still a long way from any trimming as my perspective is mid to lower back, and I'm only just over two years' growth. I don't like the straight across style. If I don't keep the natural V shape, I might go for something rounded.
The real problem will be finding someone I can trust to do the job. I have seen ways of doing it oneself as with S&D missions.
Something for the future...

I prefer the blunt look as well and had a trim a couple months back to even out some of the layers in the back from growing it out.
I have my partner, an accomplished hair stylist, Keep my below mid back hair length trimmed in a hybrid cut. Fairly blunt but with a more natural looking shallow curve. just lays better and looks very nicely kept.
I'm with Anthony on this one as I prefer the longhair to grow out naturally and maintain that nice "V" shape :) It's just more appealing to me that way but nothing wrong with the other way if that's what you prefer. After all its your hair ;) Cheers

It's all a matter of individual preference. Personally, I'm enjoying my hair right now at terminal length -- which when loose, looks more or like a natural "V"-shape from behind. In fact, even before I reached terminal length, I had my hair trimmed in that same manner (with the V-shape or U-shape look, as viewed from in back).
But I've seen a lot of guys with long hair having a blunt cut straight-across trim, it looks just as good on a guy as it does on a female... in my opinion, not at all "feminine" (especially if the guy has a beard - LOL)!
I've always thought that it makes a statement that you care that it looks good. The reason women do it is ... well, it looks good! Just my opinion.
I used to think that blunt cuts were boringthat is, until I actually tried one. Nothing, I repeat, nothing makes fine hair like mine look fuller than a straight line going across the bottom. A strong weight line with a fresh, blunt cut can actually give hair a longer appearance. So while you're cutting, you're creating an illusion of length and volume. Even when I wore my hair shoulder length (3-4 years ago), I had a straight blunt cut and my hair looked incredibly fuller and healthier. And it's still the case today with my hair down to my lower back.
