Thanks so much for all the help, guys! You're right: there is no better time to grow my hair long than now, so I need to man up and just grow it. I've come to realize that I can't just tell them what I feel, but I think I can make a compromise that could actually work. This time, I won't back down on this. Wish me luck, and I'll post the results of my compromise when I have time to do it!
I think you're doing the right thing. Good luck, buddy! Hang in there!
Keep us updated. Hope it goes well.
Really while in school is the best time to grow. It gets you past the awkward can't "man bun" or ponytail your hair stages and all you have to worry about is your mental skills to get your degree. Also, don't lose courage when you are about get out into the "real job" world and cut it. I did that to get promoted and regret it. I found out two years later that out it wasn't even necessary. It seems that tying it back or up works for 99% of employers, even if they don't prefer it. Wishing you the best, Sym.
I would caution guys to not cut their hair for a job. I've known too many guys who cut their hair for a job they interviewed for only to find out they didn't get the job, the wsa given to the owners son, or some other excuse. Same goes for promotions.
