(Studio fan wind that is) :p
Nice pic!!! Although I always have a preference for outdoor photography, a good photographer's studio is nothin' to complain about!!
Take care, Mr. Swimfan... and by the way, what does the "ZA" stand for? (Just curious)
- Ken in San Francisco
Oh that's the abbreviation for South Africa from the old Dutch way of writing it (Zuid-Afrika). You'll see the currency is still listed as ZAR (South African Rand).
(hehe you're now way more informed about South Africa than the average American :p )
Ahhh, cool to know that info! Yes, Americans unfortunately tend to be uninformed about a lot of things outside of the USA (many Americans THINK we "understand" the rest of the world; but just to prove that we historically haven't much, we should never have voted into office George W. Bush as our President for 8 horribly looooong years (LOL).... We are trying to wake up and smell the proverbial "roses" now though -- at least an attempt to improve ourselves (President Obama is at least a big improvement over Bush, no?)... Politics aside, thanks for explaining the meaning of ZA to me, I much appreciate it!
- Ken (in historically politically LEFT-wing San Francisco, California)
Next to none really.
Under Bush we saw our gas prices go up.
Under Obama we saw our health insurance premiums skyrocket at the same time that our benefits declined. (I am one of those cases that Obamacare was supposed to help, now my annual family deductible is 1/3 of my annual income. Please take it back, I don't want it!)
Both pres have sent troops into wars we have no business being in. In spite of their lip-service, both have taxed the poorest among us the hardest while protecting the wealthy. Both have used tragedy to push for their own personal agenda.
Different tactics, same result. We are actually dangerously close of reentering the cold war era with Russia again because of Obama's foreign policy. How is that any kind of improvement?
Both are equally horrible presidents and 98% of voting Americans haven't learned yet that we keep getting the exact same results from both ruling parties. Which is why I refuse to vote for either one of them, but vote for one of the minority parties or write in some long haired dude like "Ken in SF" or even myself.
I'll get back off my soapbox now and get back to my studies.
Hi DanielR,
If I were elected President of the US, here would be my domestic policies:
1) mandatory Swing dance classes for every American citizen over the age of 18;
2) mandatory rose gardening for every American man, woman, and child (at least one in a pot per person, for those like me that only have a deck at home - LOL)....
3) every American family MUST learn how to make their own homemade Salsa and Guacamole from scratch!
My foreign policies would include the following:
1) The United States of America must leave all foreign countries...
2) The United States of America must STAY OUT of all foreign countries (including the US Navy, Army, Air Force, and Marines)...
3) The US Military needs to INSIST on all men growing their hair long, with no short-haired exceptions, effective IMMEDIATELY!!!
"It's a shame that the people who could really run this country are all too busy driving taxis and cutting hair!" (I think it was comedian George Burns who said that quote - LOL!)
My slogan for US Presidency:
"Vote for me! I can REALLY flush this country down the tubes!!"
You'd have my vote Ken!!
Mine, too, Ken! I'm with you all the way.
Maybe add to the foreign policies to actually learn about the world outside of America...? ;)
What? There is a world outside of America?
It's not everyday that I hear someone who shares my view on foreign policy, and on all three points. What a breath of fresh air.
I also like you domestic policy.
Ken in SF for Pres!
Daniel
Ugh, Obamacare. I'm a freelancer and have to buy my own insurance, so technically I should have been helped by this law. Unfortunately now like you, my premiums have doubled as has my deductible. It's been a travesty.
I'm so disappointed with the democrats.
Obama is no improvement over Bush. Both are fascists. If you believe in freedom it's a safe bet to stand with Rand (Paul). He is my choice for President.
