Well, maybe more than slight - about 2ft!
Calf-length just wasn't practical for me, so I finally let my other half take the scissors to my mane. It's now around belt length, which feels ridiculously short and although it's about two weeks since my "trim" it still doesn't feel right.
Plus points? It dries in half the time and I have more styling options than I used to have, not to mention the fact that it takes less than half the time to plait it.
Minus points? I miss it and I can't just coil it up into a bun and expect it to stay there unsecured.
Who knows, I may trim it again in another ten years' time.
I can only dream of having such problems since my terminal
length is slightly above nipple length.
Do you have a photo from before the trim - would love to see it.
Here's one from a few weeks ago.
Wow! That is really impressive, but I can only imagine the challenges that hair that length presents. I've been thinking about letting my hair grow to terminal length, just to see how long it will grow, and then cutting it, if necessary, to a more manageable length.
My initial plan was to let it grow to terminal and then cut it to waist length. I'm not sure I reached terminal, but I can't say I'd noticed much of an increase in length over the last year, so I can't have been far off. However, it feels way too short now, so I wish I'd left another 6-12 inches!
Well, the good news is that it will grow back. I wish I could say the same about my mpb.
Yeah, blunt ends don't bun as well. Good growing!
Watch this space. It may get back to its former length. This just doesn't feel right for me.
Hi Viking,
I had the same feelings about my own hair, after cutting off only 3 inches last summer -- my partner did a nice job of trimming it, but it just didn't feel right for me either.
That trimming event happened about 8 months ago, and it is just now feeling like I'm back to "normal" again (my terminal length is not as long as yours though, as my longest hairs only will reach to the top of my butt, won't grow down any further).
Looking forward to seeing your hair grow back to its former glory!!

I don't think I'll let it get quite as long again. It just wasn't practical when it came to doing sports or pretty much any activity that involves doing more than sitting still - and even then, it kept getting trapped in the gaps between cushions on the sofa as well as being a temptation to the dog and cats! At least at this length it doesn't swing quite as much and I'm also less likely to take someone's eye out while dancing.
WOW, awesome length though. Do you live in Oxfordshire still? I'm from Oxford also!
I left there about three years ago and now live near Glasgow.
Ahhhh massive shame! Do you use any social media, what's this new hair looking like now?
