I lost my long hair due a false diagnosis from a doctor. He told me to cut the hair to see if it is Psoriasis there. But this wasn't true.
I like long hair very! But if it will get the length I'd in the past then it will need years (if it doesn't drop out). It was about 50 to 60 cm long (below midback).
I'm considering to use a wig to compensate this lost until the hair does reaching the old length again.
My preferred style is a old mongol-like one (A caftan combined with a long braid on the back! The hairlength shall be at least 50 cm from the neck.
I need some comments!!!!

It's funny that this message came up. There are other's who read this sight who actually do this. I wish to have long hair as well, but due to job requirements, do not have the luxury. So after reading the posts, I thought that it would be a great idea for me to try it. FINALLY, just today, I went to a wig shop out of town, and bought a couple! Both are very smooth and very straight. One is at my shoulder length, with full bangs, while the other is down to my thigh! I have been wearing the shorter one around the house, (not in public yet). I think it looks great!
I would love to see a message board pertaining to people like myself who choose the option to wear long wigs vs. having real hair (not that that should be a substitute, just to see how many people there are who do this. One guy who monitors this board said he was working on that concept. I lost his e-mail address however, and not sure if I remember it! He'll probably be responding to this post as well.
Good luck to you!
I keep my hair short because of balding (God, I hate that!). I would love to have long hair but I'm afraid my only option would be a wig. I'd be interested to hear from some that have tried wigs. I'm not even sure where I'd look for one!
Thanks,
Kyle
Look under your yellow pages under "wigs". That should list some of the local wig stores in your area. On the web, you can contact www.wigs.com, and see a HUGE selection of wigs at fairly low prices. I plan on ordering from them in the future.
Like I said in my previous post, I JUST bought 2 of them today! As I'm writing this, I'm wearing the long one, called the Godiva. It's nice, but somewhat difficult to manage (there's so much hair!).
Hope this helps!
I also wear a GODIVA wig in public which I purchased through
http://www.wigs.com who have the best prices I have found and very good service. Plain brown wrapper and all. The GODIVA wig is alot of hair, but then that is why I like it. If anyone cares to try this I have a few hints.
1. When you get it, there is no part. I created a center part
using a rat-tail comb. Initially the wig resists this and the part and front look "lumpy". After a few wearings it will lay flat and look alot more natural. Pressing down hard with your finger right where the part breaks through the front will also help.
2. Buy and use only the very softest of brushes to brush it out. The bristles of the brush I use are very dense (I think it may be referred to as a man's "club" brush and the individualy bristles are softer than a good quality paint brush. Using any other kind of brush only breaks the fubers.
3. To remove knots, use only your fingers in a sideways action, pulling the knot apart. Again, pulling down only causes the fibers to break.
4. Carry the brush with you....you'll need it.
5. Brushing the wig back towards your ears will make the front lay down flat..... I don't know why this is...but that's what I've learned.
6. Have a spray bottle of distilled water handy to wet your hair down with when you take the wig off as your own hair will look quite messy.
7. Only wear the wig in cool places as it will definitetly tend to make your head sweat a bit.
I always wear the wig down (not tied back at all). I don't have the ability to grow long hair or else I would. The top of my head is mostly bald. I don't try to pretend I am feminine in any way and in fact wear a neatly trimmed beard which I try to match the wig to. I mostly wear it while driving to and from work, taking it off at each end. Occasionally I will go shopping with it on in neighborhoods away from where I live in which case I will brush it back so that it stays behind my shoulders. I enjoy the reactions from the girls as I am sure all you long-haired men do as well.
If you try this, I wish you luck. For me it is alot of fun and feels great as well.
I can help U: See my link page on my site (and see my nice pic-gallery too!) :)
