Hi, guys! I've been a way for a while, and pretty busy. I recently had a big, annoying move, my mother-in-law had some serious health issues come up, and things have been pretty hectic.
My hair is now past my shoulders, and I never thought it would get that there. I guess the old adage of "just wait, hair grows" is true. I have discovered that I don't actually have straight hair, I have wavy hair. It seems shorter that in is because it insists upon curling up over my shoulders. It also gets tangled ridiculously easy. I've also noticed that it isn't all one color, my roots seem darker than the rest. I've no idea what that's about.
I've included some pics to show my progress. The first is older, and is my hair in a french braid. My mother-in-law did it. I cannot do it to save my own life.
The second is more recent, from last month, and shows where my hair basically is now. You can plainly see how crazy the end of my hair is.

Nice progress pics!!! (and that French braid looks pretty amazing, too!!)

Cheers, Ken. :) I hope you and your partner are doing well in (I assume) rainy SF. I hope you get some good Spring weather soon. :)

Hey there!
Thanks for stopping by and posting an update.
I'ts looking real nice and when more lenght comes up, those "swirls" and "curls" will disappear.
You've said it tangles very often now? Haha, wanna swap with mine which is very curly? If I comb it everyday, I will end up getting bald because of some tangles. Maybe if you use a conditioner it helps getting rid of some tangles and hidratates your hair too, why not give it a try?
Take care my friend!
Hi CarpeMortum90,
Wow! What a great update! I had been wondering what your might be looking like now! i must say you have some very nice hair going on there! I really like the movement the waves give it at the ends. Those curls at the end might fall out with more weight and length. As far as the color, it looks fantastic! The braid is also awesome! I can't braid hair either! Hair is funny though. It sometimes totally changes the longer it gets. We think we have curly hair and it turns out straight or vice versa! I have even heard where people have shaved their head and ended up with the opposite hair type than before when it grew back out!
Thanks for the inspiration and please keep it growing my friend!
Please be well!
Ted
Thanks, Ted. I agree with you on how hair changes. I never would have guessed it. I'll keep on chuggin' along, after all, all it requires of me is to let it be. Cheers!
Hi CarpeMortum90,
congrats, your hair is really long! The curlyness and colour changes are what I find really interesting about growing hair out, you just don't notice it when it's short.
Thanks for the update!
Philip
Hi CarpeMortum90,
Thanks, Phillip. :) You're right about not noticing things. I would have thought my hair was straight or spikey, and that it was brown. Now I know it's wavy and really, really thick. It's hard to get a brush through it, from the thickness and how tangled it gets. I have to use this spray meant for kids that "detangles" and moisturizes. And the color thing still trips me out. The older ends are definitely light brown, while the newer roots are dark brown. In strong light people say they see red, too. No one in my family has red hair, so I dunno where that comes from.
Cheers!

Your hair looks fantastic. I'm envious. By the way, congrats on getting married (if I didn't already congratulate you - my memory is not as sharp as it used to be).
I do believe that's the first time anyone has ever said that. :) Thanks!

I believe you did, but thank you anyway. It's always nice to hear it, especially when it's a real possibility that Drumpf will get elected, and I'm not sure how long my marriage will be valid then. :/
