Ha ha, that was a fun video and a great way for a guy to try out longhair and avoiding the awkward stage.Og course nothing beats the real thing ;) Cheers

I saw this video with curiosity, but I can't imagine the experience of someone who puts on a wig and is an "instant longhair".
For us with real hair, it took time. We ceased to be self-conscious about it when it began to become a reality. People who know us are not surprised when it takes the time it takes to grow.
It would have been a fun game for those concerned, but it is not the experience of long haired guys. Perhaps if they wore their wig in an environment where no one had seen them with their short hair. They noticed that those who did not know them showed a completely uncaring attitude. Here in France, you get the occasional look in the street, the supermarket, etc. but little more than that.

I agree with what you say. This post made me think about reaction to my hair. My hair is midback, has been for years now. I essentially Never get a negative response or comment. I feel that once YOU are comfortable being yourself, your relaxed attitude and confidence is what people pick up on. In fact, my look (I also have a beard), seems to inspire people to chat with me much more than when I looked like the average short haired clone. Self acceptance comes first. Being the real you without an "in your face" attitude, just being the person you are seems to be very attractive to others. If you aren't defensive, they aren't either. I hadn't thought about this in so long but for some reason this post made me think again. Thanks for the inspiration.
I have to say that I agree with every single word both Anthony and sj said.
One of the guys in the video said he felt fake. Well yeah, it's a f**kin' WIG, dude!
He said he felt strange in public and people who knew him were shocked. Well yeah, because he suddenly changed overnight. In the real world, hair only grows about half an inch a month - and both you and the people around you become accustomed to it very gradually. It's a totally different scenario.
"In fact, my look (I also have a beard), seems to inspire people to chat with me much more than when I looked like the average short haired clone."
Yeah, I noticed the same thing. I feel far more confident and *natural* since I grew my hair long (especially after the awkward stage). And that confidence seems to attract other people - even total strangers outside clubs or wherever - to want to chat to me more than before.
