Here is my update after 2 years absence. I would rather not go into what made me unregister here, just wanted to let every know I still have long hair.
I started becoming a regular here in 2003, the first few years of having longhair made this site indispensable for me. I'm 32 years old and I'm back in michigan. I lived in nyc for 7 years.
Hi Kenneth, great to hear from you again :) I have to say your hair is looking wonderful these days so I guess Michigan is treating you right? Wish I could have met you when in NYC since I live just across the river from that place. Still I'm happy you remembered us here at mlhh so please, don't be a stranger ;) Cheers

hair looks great, welcome back!
Good to hear from you again, Kenneth! Your hair is looking fantastic and it's awesome to hear that you haven't cut it. I hope things are working out for you in Michigan.
Hi Kenneth!

Best regards,

A few updates on my life. I successfully kicked the smoking habit in 2014. Since moving back to michigan, I've struggled with employment, but things are looking better. I'm now struggling with the decision whether to put alcohol behind me as well. Everytime I stop drinking, I go through headaches and severe hunger, and then it's months until the next drink. Then it starts over from there.
Hi Kenneth,
Kudos to you for kicking the smoking habit. That's one vise you truly can live without and you'll be way better off without it.As for drinking that depends on how it affects your daily living.I drink but am in total control as it never has affected me in a negative way short of an occasional hangover if I had too much.I do hope your job prospects succeed as that is important just to survive and have self esteem. Please stick with us as we all do care my friend. That's one of the things I love about this community.Keep the faith.

That's great that you ditched the smoking (tobacco I'm assuming). Alcohol is a potentially very dangerous substance and since you've had problems with it, you may want to cut it out entirely. I'm a believer in harm reduction. Pot would certainly qualify as a good substitute if you're going to have one or the other.
May I suggest a better alternative altogether? If you don't have a fitness regimen, I strongly encourage you to start one. The mental and physical benefits are huge. I used to run but my joints couldn't take the pounding. I switched to cycling and find it a great way to achieve a high fitness level without injuring yourself. As for the mental benefits, after a hard ride, I experience a period of about 6 hours where I feel fantastic - a natural high. It's also a great way to lose weight and keep it off.
I'vew been running since last year. I don't use marijuana as it's a lot easier to get a job, if you can pass a drug test. Plus I'm from the winner's don't use drugs generation, and it's just not my thing.
You do realize that your substance of choice, alcohol, is a drug and one that kills many people every year. Overdose is deadly, prolonged abuse is deadly and peoples behavior while under its influence can kill as well.
Marijuana has none of those effects. Its a bit condescending to classify yourself as a winner just because your drug is alcohol rather than pot. Society would be a lot better off if people used more pot and less alcohol. The alcohol and pharmaceutical industries have powerful lobbies but theyre losing their influence as decriminalization and legalization are now unstoppable forces.
Of course, if you can abstain from both, youre the best off. I hope the running has helped you.
Of course I know all that. I would rather not go into my drug use history, as everyone knows that employers check social media all the time. I'm just saying I would rather be completely drug free and that includes alcohol.
