Hey, people of mlhh.
I just noticed a pretty bad bald patch on my scalp, what's your take on this?
And what should I do about it?
Hi Joggle,
That doesn't look like a bald patch. That just looks like your part. It probably looks like that because of the fine texture of your hair. I don't think I would be concerned about that. I suspect your hair looks pretty nice overall. But kind of hard to tell from the top.
Ted

Hey Ted, thanks for the feedback.
This is my hair currently (ignore the split ends, I will cut them pretty soon)
So it's nothing to worry about?
Hi Joggle,
Wow! your hair is fantastic looking! I think you need to keep doing what you're doing! And I agree with LHIA. Your hair is probably pulling the strands apart at the top causing the gap. Thanks much for the inspiration! I love your hair man! Please take good care!
Ted
Oh, and it sure looks like you are blessed with perfect waves;)
Ted
I'm not a physician, or even a hairdresser, but that looks like one head of very long, thick, healthy hair! Keep up whatever you're doing, man!
Don
That's a pretty awesome head of hair you have Joggle. I'm jealous!
Hi Joggle,
I would agree with the others, you have nothing to worry about. That's just the weight of your magnificent hair at your part line.
Bruce
You got great hair Joggle, you should check if you start seeing lots of hair on your pillow when you wake up. That's how I started losing mine, many years ago.
If you got any close family members with male pattern baldness, then you need to worry. Otherwise your hair loss might be tied to stress factors, what you eat, etc. and going to the doctor can help
Tes
Thank you all for the kind, supportive, thoughtful and helpful replies, I really appreciate it! Both my father and my grandfather are bald, but I guess I have nothing to worry about just yet. If anything changes, I'll keep you guys updated :)
Have a wonderful day,
Joggle
Hi again, Joggle,
If I remember correctly, if your Mother's Father went bald early in life then you might be going bald early. Maybe someone else will add any info they may have about this. But I hope you keep growing your wonderful hair and don't think you have to worry about anything! Thanks again for the major inspiration! Please take good care my friend!
Ted
Don't mean to spoil the party a bit, but I once thought the same ;o ... it's an old wives' tale. If your father or grandfather is bald, then you definitely have a chance ;o . Not a single person on my mom's side was bald - great hair ;o !... but mostly everyone on my dad's side was/is bald :/ . I thought I was safe, but learned from my dermatologist and through a DNA test, that I have both balding genes ~o~; . Thanks dad ;p . So keep an eye on it - it'd good thing to catch it early :) !
Sincerely,
yoshiki ^_^
And if I remember correctly you have (or had) wonderful long hair last time I saw a photo of you here! Now you will spoil the party if that isn't the case! Please don't tell me the genes have already kicked in!
Ted
My understanding is that is not a bald spot, that it is caused by the weight of your hair.
Nothing to worry about.
Nothing wrong with your hair. To the contrary, you have a splendid mane!
