... we lost our beloved Bill. I was reminded of the date by Marty's post of "On Being A Longhair," aptly described by Jason in his euology for Bill as his "seminal treatise." The world is not only a better place for longhaired men, but a better place as a whole, for Bill's having been here.
His intelligence, compassion, and quick-witted humor are still missed.
Warm regards to all of you,
Val
I have a nice assortment of different styles of bandanas. I have different camo ones in shades of blue, grey and green because of Bill. Today I bought a doo rag from a military/police gear site called a hoo-rag...I got navy blue for colon cancer that runs in my family.

Back in 2013 I had the privilege of having Bill and his husband Larry visit me at my home in New Jersey when they embarked on a cross country road trip following the path of the old Lincoln Highway. They remained in the area for a couple days as we toured NYC and the Jersey shore during that time.I believe this was the last trip Bill was able to make before his untimely death.I always enjoyed visiting with Bill and Larry every year I made my west coast visit to the Bay Area where they lived.Pictured here is Bill and Larry as they were about to depart for New Hampshire where Larry grew up as a child.I certainly miss Bill a lot!

Dear Bill,
May you always Rest in Peace my friend! I will remember you always as a kind gentle man. I enjoyed the email messages we shared(albeit too few). I'm sure you are keeping watch over everybody here duly. We shall carry on in your honor and never forget you! And may your beloved Larry live happily and in Peace knowing you are in a better place! You left this world a better place and I will smile every time I think of you! Until we meet again gentle soul...Godspeed!

I met Bill, on a motorcycle run, back in '02, on Salt Spring Island, in BC. What a nice, sweet man.
What a loss...
I first met Bill (and Larry) at a meetup in California with most of the California MLHH guys and Hairball from New Jersey. A couple of years later Bill and Larry were visiting Death Valley and we met for a long dinner in Beatty Nevada. What a delightful evening that was...
It is said that immortality is how one is remembered !!
He certainly contributed much to the cause. I do hope Larry is doing okay. Bill was always such a fixture here, the board seems empty without him.
