Hello there, guys. Long time lurker (occasional poster) stopping by to say that Im starting the journey again. I went 6 or 7 months last time until I called it quits just as the awkward stage was calming down. I cut it back in January.
The more I look back at pictures the more I realize it was actually coming along nicely. Not quite sure why I gave up. Anyway, here we go again.
here we go again.
Hey DunderThome!
It's good to have you post again.
It is unfortunate that you cut your hair. You're right, was really starting to look awesome, looking at the "Before Cut" pic. The important thing is that you're growing you hair again. Welcome back, man.
I would venture to say that the fact that you are giving it another try says that there is something deep down inside of you which is saying that you are a long hair; you don't feel completely yourself without your long hair.
Don't give up. Don't cave. Whenever you're tempted to cut your hair just stop and think to yourself, 'Do I really want to do this? I'm on this journey; I don't want to turn back. I know what I felt like when I cut my hair before.' If you are tempted to cut your hair just remember how good it is going to feel when your hair is touching your shoulders. Remember, how awesome it is going to feel when the wind blows and your hair is flying all around your head. Imagine how it is going to feel when you shake your head and you can feel your hair brush over your shoulders and touch your back. Whenever you begin to get discouraged because of the awkward stage reach out to us, your long haired bros and we will give you the advice and encouragement you need.
Welcome back, bro!
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
Good luck man, as Raymond says, keep it going from here on in.
I made the same mistake after 2 years in and wont be making the same mistake again! Coming up to 7 months in and things are developing nicely :-)
Looks like we're both headed in the right direction!
Thanks for the inspirational words, Raymond!
Hi DunderThome,
You look like you have great hair to grow long. I cut mine also after about a year and instantly regretted it. You just have to have much patience and just enjoy the journey. once you get to the point where it hangs nicely you probably won't want to cut it. And you definitely cannot listen to anybody who tries to discourage you. Go for what you want and you will get it. I look forward to your future updates!
