1. Stay away from hair cutting places.
2. Don't listen to people who tell you not to grow it.
3. Have a lot of patience.
4. Try not to pay attention to your hair as it grows.

Congrats on your decision to begin your long hair journey.
I will offer to you this tip: Stay away from barber shops and hair salons. I would also recommend that you not allow a pair of scissors or a razor to get anywhere near your head.
You will find that the guys on this hyperboard are very varied in their backgrounds. We are bonded together by our appreciation of long hair on guys. You will find that just about everyone here is more than willing to help you with advice, tips, and most of all, encouragement. If you should feel the urge to cut your hair get on this hyperboard and ask for help. It takes years to grow out your hair but only a few minutes to undo it.

And if you do have the urge to cut your hair remember the two week
rule. It takes a long to grow hair, it can only take seconds to cut it.
I'd caution you to avoid the wind by putting the hair in a pony tail, braid, bun, etc. Yes having your hair blowing in the wind,the wind can also cause hair damage, tangles, etc
