Hello guys ! It has been awhile since I last popped in and posted any updated. You may or may not remember that I had reached 39 months of growth from a buzzcut, and I was feeling great with my hair. Well, the brutal summers here in Texas, and honestly the feeling of wanting a change took its toll. I ended up cutting all my awesome hair off that I worked so hard to acquire. I immediately regretted it. That was 11 months ago. It will be a year since that day (hard to believe) at the end of this month. I have had no trims of any kind since the last big chop, and look forward to being back to where I was and even more. Thank you for all the support that you guys bring to this forum.

Hello Patrick Brands!
It's awesome to hear from you again!
Patrick, I'm so sorry that you cut your hair. You realize now that you are a born long hair and that without your long hair there is a part of you missing.
Well, that's in the past. Now you're on the journey back to your former glory.
Keep it growing!
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
P.S.: Is your son still sporting long hair?

Sure is ! :) I am so glad to be back and thank you for the kind words Raymond.
Hi Patrick,
Very nice to see you check in! As a fellow Texan, I understand the Summers here! But your hair is coming along very nicely! Did you donate your hair anywhere? I cut mine off last October for no good reason and definitely regretted it. I will be posting my 1 year progress photo soon. We have to be patient as you know! Please take care!
Ted
Hi Patrick,
Great seeing you post again on the board:)It was disappointing reading that you cut off your wonderful mane after taking so long to grow it out. However your not the first, or last person to do such a thing. Our own Ken from SF did the exact same thing back in 2000 on what was an impulse decision. That is why we preach the two week rule here just for that very reason.Fortunately your hair will grow back but as you know that takes time.Glad to hear you immediately regretted that fateful choice but it happens.Hope all has been well with you otherwise my friend.Cheers

Patrick, I've worn long hair in Texas since the 1970s. Weather is no reason to cut your hair. That's what ponytail holders are for. When it's really hot I'll even wear a plastic clip messy bun upper sometimes. This time of the year I try to do most of my outside stuff early in the day before it gets super hot, anyway. If you love having long hair you can find a good way to have it. No more excuses, OK?
Yes summer is hot as hell, but no I never ill cut my hair in the summer.
On a hot summer day i just love wearing cut off shorts, basketball shorts, and no shirt. For me the ultimate luxury is feeling my long hair cascading down my back. And even if you have it in a pony tail you can still feel it on your back and/or shoulders.
Now there have been times where it is very hot and i'll go into the mens room and wet the hair to provide relief for a short perioxd of time. A while back I had one co-worker ask if i'm going to cut my hair for the summer. Nope, won't happen.
