Hi everybody,
It has been one long year since I foolishly cut my hair! I'm kind of happy to get this much growth in only a year. My hair seems to be doing the flippy thing at the ends. This is probably due to the neck area. Hope everyone is doing well and your hair is progressing. Onward and downward for me from here!

Your hair has definitely grown significantly in one year's time.
Your hair is very dense, a beautiful color and has nice waves. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it reaches your mid back but i can already tell that it will look absolutely amazing.
Remember always to cherish the hair you have today and not to dwell on the hair of the past.

Thanks so much for your very nice comments! I truly appreciate them since I am so critical of my hair. I wish my hair was still as thick as it used to be. Seems like it has thinned out quite a bit. I'm not sure how wavy it will be once it falls past the shoulders. But I will take what I can get! I can't wait to get to 2 years!
Your hair looks awesome I must say! I did enjoy the photos you posted from Pretoria. You are looking great in those photos! How much longer are you going to let your hair grow? I believe your hair would look so good when longer! Please don't cut! Thank you again for your kind words and please take care of yourself! :-)

Great seeing you posting an update so we can all see where you are in your new hair growing journey.Your hair looks great after the first year and obviously looks long.From this point forward should be easy as for the most part your beyond the awkward stage being your hair lays nice and doesn't look unruly.Other than that I hope your health has been good as I recall you've had your ups and downs with that.Have a great weekend my friend.Cheers

Thank you kindly for your compliments! I am still trying to figure out why I cut my hair! It will be a long time until I cut my hair again. As you probably remember, I want to grow it long enough to donate some and still have at least mid-back hair. I know you frown on this. But this is something I want to do since I have my own serious medical issues. It puts things in a different perspective for me. I don't ant to go back to short hair like most guys who donate their hair.
I'm trying my best to not pay attention to my hair growth progress. I know patience will make me very happy in about 4 years. I just can't wait until I can feel my hair swish around when I walk! As far as my health, I have gotten better. I really appreciate you asking! My heart has improved and I'm trying to get back on the kidney transplant list. I apologize for not keeping in contact with you through PM. maybe I will quit being so darn lazy! I sure hope you have been doing great and enjoying life! Please take care and thanks again!

Happy weekend :) Thank you for your reply to my response.Like I mentioned your hair appears past the awkward phase so now its just waiting for the length to increase.Yes, I do recall you wanting to donate some of your hair and I normally frown on this knowing what it takes to grow it out naturally with the time involved.Of course I see your point as your looking at it from a different perspective than I am.What matters most is what makes you feel better in life so I won't hold that against you.
I'm happy to hear your health is on the upswing and that you can get back on the transplant list so you can finally get off dialysis.I know you've been dealing with this for years.Beyond that just enjoy life my friend and cherish each day you wake up and smell the fresh air:) We all need to stop once in a while and enjoy the gift of life.Cheers

Happy weekend to you as well my friend! I am glad to hear you won't hold the donation thing against me.:) But you can rest assured that I will not be making any donation until my hair is at least mid-back length. And I may wait until belt length. I am not going back to crew-cut length hair.
Thanks so much for your encouraging words! I am indeed enjoying life even though I have rough days sometimes. But ultimately it is up to me to make my life happy. Yes, I do thank the man upstairs for every day I have! My outlook has changed since I found out I had kidney disease. Please take care of yourself!

Thanks so much for your very kind words! Yes, I wasn't expecting this much growth in only a year! I started pretty short. I guess I should consider myself fortunate! But I'm not looking back now-I am not cutting anytime soon! I think the hair needs to get longer so it will lay down better at the bottom.

Wow! Your hair looks fabulous! I just can't imagine having my hair that long! I want to be able to feel my hair swish back and forth when I walk. And you are right! If you can do it, so can I! I am 52 years old now and plan to have long hair for the rest of my life. I appreciate you telling me to contact you if I want to cut! I will certainly do that! Many thanks for your very kind words! I know it doesn't look like much right now! But I'm hoping in a year I will have something to look at! I can't even imagine where I'll be after 5 and a half years. But I'm sure I will love it! I must say your hair here looks much better than mine. Did you think you would keep growing your hair 5 and a half years? I'm not cutting anytime soon. My plan is to grow to at least belt length and then donate some. But I still plan to have at least mid-back length hair after donating.

congratulations on 1 year of fresh hair growth! I think it can happen easily that you feel like you want to have short hair again. For me when I was at at 3 to 4 years of growing it out, I really missed short hairstyles and how practical they are. But now I really like the long hair and I wouldn't cut it. Thank you for posting your progress! Onwards and downwards, keep it growing :)

Thanks so much for your very kind reply! I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner! I have to tell you that I love watching your videos on Youtube! Your hair inspires me to keep growing mine! It seems like it has been more than one year of growing I must say. But I am trying to be patient.
The time I wish I had short hair is when my hair is wet and I wish it would dry faster. I can't wait to get to 3 or 4 years. I feel lucky that my hair does not tangle very often. Also, all I have to do is use my hands to brush it back. I thank you for posting your wonderful progress photos here. They really help me keep going. Yes, onwards and downwards! You can be sure I will keep it growing! Please take care my friend!
