First of all, thanks to all on this board for good advice and the generally supportive criticism. This is my first post...been lurking for a while. I have not seen anyone using this handle so I'll stick with it unless I've hijacked it from someone. I used to have shoulder length hair some 10+ years back and I am going back to my roots so to speak. Stopped cutting a buzzcut in Feb and only had one trim in the back to eliminate the mullet look. I had forgotten how long it took to get to a decent length. Anyway, since I saw a post about boar bristle brushes recently, I picked one up. I had never owned or used one in the past. What is it about those things makes the hair so silky smooth? It definitely ends in a better result than a regular brush.
Hi! Welcome on Board!
...ummmmm..well those bristle brushes are good but they had a bad
relationship with my hair....i.e....made it too fluffy.
Had to 'revert' to a wide-tooth brush.
Thanks for the welcome. I do not know what type of hair you have, but mine is pretty much stick straight with some slight waves and lays flat. For me, the brush actually adds body after I use it, but settles not too long after. What I was trying to figure out was what the actual bristles do to make the hair soft, smooth and shiny. I am sure it is partly due to the spreading of oil, but, prior to first use of the brush, all the conditioning and other types of brushes did not have as pronounced an effect.
