Hi all,
Used to be a regular here many years ago, before my wife hacked off my hair... have been a lurker much since, which I know isn't very nice ;o . Anywho, currently on my second bout of growing out my hair again and yeah, it does grow slower as you get older... oh well ;p . Nevertheless, snapped a photo tonight and darn, it looks so much better this time than the first go-around ;o (save for the added gray)! Glad my wife, this time, has finally given me some tips on how to take better care of my hair ;p . Anyways (sorry, having trouble separating all of these thoughts here), hopefully my hair continues to grow and grow out longer before it all falls out (heh xD )... but we'll see where this second journey goes and I do hope it continues to go where I want it to :) . Cheers, my friends - I'll try to be a bit less of a stranger here in the future ^_^ ~
Sincerely,
yoshiki ^^
It looks excellent, man! Real inspiration for me as that's the kind of hair I have and hope to get it that long this time a round. You mentioned loosing your hair jokingly. I don't think this should be much of a concern for you anymore. Male Pattern Baldness runs in my family and when I was in my early 30s I thought that was happening to me but I still have 2/3 of my hair years later. The further you get from your 20s the less the probability of Male Pattern Baldness. I found this stat on WebMD:
By age 35, two-thirds of American men will have some degree of appreciable hair loss and by age 50 approximately 85% of men have significantly thinning hair. About 25% of men who suffer from male pattern baldness begin the painful process before they reach 21.

Nah, I was actually serious when I mentioned about loosing my hair, 'cause about seven years ago, I was diagnosed with MBP (when I was on my first run on growing out my hair). That summer, my hair just started falling out like crazy! Went to the Doc and the Dermatologist and sure enough, MPB. Luckily though, I caught it early enough - right on the nose - to where the Dermatologist says I'll never loose my hair (I hope he's right ;p ). He prescribed me Finasteride... can be a bit of a nasty pill, but I was determined that I was not going to end up looking like everyone on my dad's side (so I started taking it)... and ironically, you can get MPB from your dad's side just as much as you can get it from your mom's (everyone on my mom's side has hair... took a DNA test and I have both genes for MBP :( ). So I caught it early, but still, it's only a matter of time before I slowly loose my hair a bit. It is what it is and you get what life throws at 'ya ;p . Anywho, thank you very much for the kind words in your previous post ^_^ ~
Hey yoshiki!
I have two (2) words for you: Benjamin Franklyn.
Benjamin Franklin is one (1) of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He had MPB. He simply let the hair on the sides of his head grow.
He was a hit with the French ladies who thought he was a trend setter for being a natural man of the American Frontier. He didn't cover his head with a powdered wig.
