Hello, i was wondering if any of you have any tips and tricks on how to grow nice long hair, any feedback (Good or bad) is appreciated
Simply stop cutting it and it will grow. Take advice from this group about the "awkward stage" when it happens to you. Apart from that, normal care with washing and conditioning. Good luck...
Hey Keaton,
Welcome to the tribe, bro!
Once you have made the decision to grow out your hair, regardless of what length your hair is currently, you are a long hair. You are one (1) of us.
There are three (3) things you have to do to grow long hair:
1. Stay away from any barber shop or hair styling salon. Keep all scissors and razors away from your head. Do not listen to those who criticize you for growing your hair out or make fun of you because of your long hair.
2. Keep your scalp and hair clean. Water wash everyday. Shampoo and condition twice a week.
3. Celebrate each hair growth milestone. For example: when your hair covers your ears, when the stands of hair in your bangs are long enough to take in your mouth and bite, when your hair begins to brush your shoulders, and the big rush comes when you can finally gather your hair at the back of your head and put it in a ponytail.
Remember Keaton, we are here for advise and encouragement.
Welcome to the family, bro!
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
Hi Keaton,
What the other guys said. But I would say that you need to be very patient. Once your hair gets longer you will not notice the growth the same way as when it is short. Just remember that hair growth averages 6 inches a year. So, if you can make it to the 2 year mark I'm sure you will be very happy with your hair. Good luck and please post your progress!

Years ago one of the former moderators of this site, Bill, put together 4 informative pages on being a longhair. I attached his second page which you may want to go through during your journey. It should help and I have referred to it many times since 2000! The other 3 pages are linked at the bottom of his 2nd page. The third page will also be helpful.
