I am considering trimming my hair back to belt length. The last foot of my hair is badly frayed and it forms knots when I wash. This causes damage to good undamaged hair due to severe tangling. I am thinking of going for better and trouble free high quality hair at this time. I am fed up with it taking hours to detangle after washing. Any advice here?

Wow what a treat to "see you"; it has been such a long time. I hope you are well and happy.
If you can post a photo of your hair (tangles and all) for our newer members to see how the "old-timers" do it !!

Hi Scott,
Good to see you post here! I think you have an excellent idea to trim it back a bit. Belt length is still very long and it's really a pleasure to have nice ends. With my hair's fine texture, I have taken to trimming to avoid just what you describe. I think our athletic activities contribute to the damage of the ends.

Yeah the frayed ends are causing additional damage. I may do the trims in increments. I need to find my hair trimming scissors.
