Hey guys! I just wanted to reach out again and ask a quick question.
So as a born longhair myself, I've gotten extremely tired of the way we're treated and stigmatized in our societies. I want this stigma to end, and as a result, I'm planning on starting a blog that is geared specifically towards born longhairs. I want to educate the public by providing information and interviewing as many born longhairs as possible. Would any of you be interested in that? I have not made the blog yet, but I plan on working on that today. If you are interested or have any questions, please respond to this thread or email me at themanestreamer@gmail.com. Thank you guys for continuing to be an incredible community!
Sure, no problem, Im happy to be one of the guys from here you can interview. Once you are all set up with your blog and ready to interview longhairs, just email me through the MLHH system, and I will reply back, giving you my email address at that time...
I no longer have a computer here at home, only access to one at work; so please be patient with me if my responses are slow.
Thank!
- Ken
Thank you so much! I just sent you a message! Let me know if you received it! Otherwise my email is themanestreamer@gmail.com
Another born longhair here, happy to be interviewed! I definitely agree that the stigmatizing needs to stop, it's been horrible. I'm the son of immigrants from a rather conservative country(as in, gender norms/appearances are enforced as strict expectations) so for me that greatly affected the stigma I faced too, which I'm happy to talk about. Feel free to send me an email!
Hi Erik
Good idea your blog. I'm OK for an interview.
Maybe you can use what I had written here: http://mlhh.org/messages/327688.html
I've also created a longhair website this summer when I discovered the MLHH. All sites I found were in English and I hadn't found an equivalent in France, so I created one for French people: https://lesgarschevelus.fr that we could translate by The Haired Guys. At the moment there was only one person who had post on it.
As someone who is 66 years old and who is a born long hair I would mention that alot of it has to due to age. I got heat about my long hair up until about the age of 45. Now that i'm a grump old man of 66 I never get any heat or stigma. So my advice is stick to your guns, it will get better with age.
I've found the best way to battle the heat and/or stigma is to grow your hair long, and keep it long. Fight to out last your critics. Don't give in and cut your hair. Don't cave when they try to bully you into cutting your hair.
Hey Eric
Count me in ! Willing to answer any questions you have .,Hope to see other peeps responses also ! Good idea man !
