Hi,
I've found this podcast about the MLHH.
They talk about the website and its topics for one hour. A post of mine are also in theirs comments and Erik's blog.
I warn you they laugh every ten seconds it's very annoying.
Hey Jesus Forain,
Thanks for the heads up about the podcast as I actually listened to the whole one plus hour of it.At first I thought it was going to be a nasty attack of the hyperboard but after awhile it was more joking around about some of the posts and not really mocking anyone to be mean or being disrespectful.I chuckled when even I got some honorable mention! LOL.I've never heard of that podcast but in a way it was cool getting some publicity for the mlhh out of it for all its worth. My one hope is that either they or their audience learned something about why some men prefer to have long hair. Thanks again for posting about this my friend.Cheers!

Hi Hairball
It's normal that you never heard of this podcast because it was posted just two weeks ago! Posted on February 26th 2021. I found it by searching "mlhh.org" on Google.
As you say it does a little publicity for the website and maybe people will understand why we have long hair.
The first time I discovered the MLHH I found this website very strange but after reading some posts I recognized me on what people write.
I discovered that I'm not alone with my long hair and more important we are a community. Just too bad I can't meet others members because I'm on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Imagine if there was a "long hair show" dedicated to long haired mens.
Just too bad that there not munch activity on the MLHH but it's the same for most websites. For me Facebook has killed the web as we had known in the 2000s. Websites traffic decrease and now everything is a Facebook page. Why not create a Facebook page for the MLHH?
It should be noted that many will have never heard of the podcast since i believe the are a half million podcasts.
I would suggest sticking with this site. I have serious doubts about how long Facebook will be around. Between the movement on Capital Hill to break up Fascebook, all the data leaks and the numerous security issues, all the fake news flooding facebook, etc. the days of Facebook may very be numbered. It also should be noted that political posts could very well lead to the death of Facebook.
As someone who administers several Facebook groups I would mention if you do set up a MLHH facebook page be prepared to have strong moderation and be prepared to moderate every single post. I would also mention that one of the reasons this site has less traffic (and less trolls) so few people know about this site. That anonymity would be gone with a facebook page (Trolls are energy creatures on the internet that love to throw bombs on the internet and get their energy from the fights that ensue. Post something about politics on Facebook and the trolls will come our of the woodwork.)
Hi LHIA,
Well said brother ! Ive been here on and off since the early 2000s.
Being here is like coming home to old friends
Hello again Jesus Forain,
I found it fascinating that a podcast, even such an obscure one, would dedicate an entire hour discussing the mlhh but hey we are unique here compared to the many other modern message boards on the net today.Have to admit we make interesting conversation to most who likely don't get our love for having long hair.So even though they did appear to mock us I felt it was in good fun.
Starting an MLHH facebook page was brought up many years ago but frankly I was against it.LHIA below layed it out quite nicely regarding the pitfalls of facebook.I don't want to really get into it here but facebook has really became a horrible experience in many ways.As long as people still come here there will always be an MLHH.I know the traffic has slowed way down from when I first came here but its still a special place on the web. That's my opinion as others may differ.
Anyway enjoying this thread and thanks for starting it my friend.Cheers.

Just my opinion, but I am not a fan of Facebook. Seems like a place for the 50 and over age group to vent. Also to much fake information and they sell your information. ( I am 53 years old).

WOW! I can't imagine that suggest creating a Facebook page could create such a debate.
I hadn't thought that doing some publicity could bring long hair haters here.
I was also against Facebook and because everybody uses it to communicate I finally create an account. Facebook is evil for some people, but you have to be careful about what you put on it. Don't post your entire life!
I prefer a website towards a standardized and formatted Facebook page. You keep your independence.
I just hope that there are backups of the website kept in safe place. I say this because last week in France there was a fire in a big datacenter and 3.6 millions websites are offline now. Some are definitively lost because there wasn't any backups outside the datacenter.
Hi Mark,
Although I dont post much here anymore, I would like to chime in and add that I much prefer this old fashioned site, and in fact, am glad to hear that youre not in favour of choosing the Facebook route. I dont even have a Facebook account, and never have, and with all the things that Ive heard about that site, especially lately, I have no intention of setting up an account there either. Although its almost unheard of these days not to have a Facebook account, thats just the way that I prefer it.
Yes, although this site isnt as active as it used to be, it still holds a place in my heart.
David
Hi David, as always I love it when our old crew checks back into the hyperboard. It's nice to know that we have not been forgotten and people still stop in whether past users or newer ones.Being I'm one of the few still running the board it just feels like home being here with its friendly users and civil conversations.
Sadly I am on facebook and first hand experience the nastiness directed at people, especially when its over controversial subjects. You did the right thing avoiding that environment.I personally cut back on my posting there.Regardless in my view the mlhh is better off where it is and not a part of fb.
Hoping all has been well with you David in your retirement as I'm looking forward to that point in my life which isn't far off now.Wishing you the best and good health my friend.I still remember our one and only meet up like it was yesterday:) Take care and by all means stop back more often.Cheers

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your kind words, and yes, I remember our get together very well. Its too bad that the weather was so awful that day. I vaguely remember that you had a cool car at the time, but my memory of that could very well be wrong.
Im definitely enjoying my retirement, and lead a fairly quiet life. I walk a lot on a trail close to my home, and of course, theres golf during the warmer months. I also have a bowling league during the colder months, but that was cancelled this last season due to COVID-19 concerns.
I hope that all is well with you and that youve been keeping healthy.
Take care,
David
Ah, thanks to the wonderful invention of podcasting anyone can now expose their ignorance and obnoxious personality to the entire world. I could only take a few minutes of that one.
Wow, you were right about the laughing. Or better put, giggling. It's horrible. And I think most of them don't know how to use websites.
