Lockdown has brought in a new trend in the UK. Men have been forced to forgo haircuts during lockdown - and they like the look!

Guardian UKHi Damon, its been awhile but hoping all has been well with you.As far as the current state of affairs there were some positives and shut down barber shops was one of them.Over here in the US of A things are slowly reopening and that includes salons and barber shops so my thinking is most guys who had to hold off on haircuts eventually got them at this juncture.I haven't noticed any uptick with more men sporting longhair nowadays which is sad.Eventually things should return to normal but for now it is what it is.Cheers my friend.

Hi Mark,
Yeah, I'm not sure there's a *huge* shift to long hair here in the UK either. Most guys are just rushing back to get their short-back-and-sides now the barbers have re-opened. But I think a few are having second thoughts.
Did you see the Guardian article in my link? Bravo for that weatherman!

I would mention that in a number of cases people will never return to the office. Companies have noticed that people can be even more productive at home than in the office. Also if people work at home the company saves a boat load of money on high rent office space down town as well as electricity, heat, etc. And for the employee they can wear what they want for clothes and wear their hair the way they want.
And there is the health concerns about returning to the office between COVID 19 and the many variants. And then there are the long termers. I suspect we'll end up getting a vaccine booster shot every year.
Around here i've noticed more guys growing their hair long. (That was happening before COVID19.)
[Full disclosure: COVID 19 has hit my house hold hard: my wife of 34 years died of COVID 19 as did my father in law at the age of 82 as did my department commander in my civil war group.]
Very sorry to hear of the deaths of your close ones. Hang in there.
I totally agree with all the points you made.
I'm so sorry to hear about the tragic impact that COVID-19 has had on your life. Truly devastating.
