Men mistaken for women
I had this kind of experience when I started to grow out my hair.
I was 15 and my voice was changing. Furthermore, I had a high-pitched voice, no bread and hair started to cover my ears so at high school everyone took me for a girl but not teachers who had names of students in the classroom. When others students know I'm a boy, that's stopped until I did a language stay with my class in a German high school for one week.
Another story:
Few years ago in the city bus a little girl asked her mother "is it a boy?" "why he has long hair?" the mother just says "yes it's a boy".
