  I've heard this story. The gym teacher was a stickler for boys having long hair. (And in his days, that probably meant hair just touching the upper ear or less than two "finger-lengths above the eyebrows.") F'd up for sure.
  But to his credit, Leonard Skinner eventually "repented" and even introduced Skynard at concerts.
  There is always hope. And people change.
