Hi all. It's been a very long time since I've been here. I was a small part of this community around 2008-2011, at which time I grew my hair out to nearly hip length. My life circumstances changed and there came a point where being a longhair felt more like a chore than part of my identity, so I ended up cutting it short in 2012. I was happy with the results and have kept it that way since. However, I look back fondly on my longhair days and for no particular reason today decided to see what's going on at the MLHH. It's good to see it is still here and looks exactly the way I remember from over a decade ago.
I was sorry to see that Bill passed away some years ago. It seems that Hairball may be the only one from that time who is still here. I included a few old pictures of my hair in the hopes that it might jog some memories. It was nostalgic for me to peruse the users' directory and see some familiar faces like Absalom, DavidN, Ken in SF, Nuttidave, Justin, and Joao David.
Looking back, my longhair journey was a transformative period for me as a young adult, and I feel as though I grew just as much on the inside of my head as on the outside. I learned a lot about acceptance and tolerance, and although I am now a mere 30-year-old shorthair, I have not forgotten the kind and helpful folks I encountered here during those years. To think that a small community in a quiet little corner of the internet could have made such a lasting impression on me!
I extend my gratitude to the MLHH and hope it continues to be a place where longhairs from all walks of life can get advice and be part of a community. My best wishes to all of you.
Hail from the Great White North,
Peter
Greetings Peter,
Always nice to hear from past members who rediscover the MLHH and return to check in.Yes, you had magnificent hair back in the day but I understand that time moves on and circumstances change. It's rare for a guy to keep long hair through his entire youth and into adulthood.I'm one of those rare exceptions as in a few short months I'll turn 60!As you mentioned I'm the last man standing here at the MLHH crew as pretty much all the others drifted away sadly and as you noted the loss of Bill C was a sad time for this community.
Anyway I thank you for checking in again, even though short haired now, but hey you can still be a longhair in spirit.By all means stop back again as your always welcome my friend.Cheers

Thank you for stopping on by, and always a pleasure to hear from our former members and of course, a fellow Canadian. Thank you for your kind mention, and I too remember fondly those old days when things were much more active here.
Im glad that youre doing well, and I will say that you had fabulous hair back then. I understand that time does march on, and there is the need for change.
Although Im not active anymore, I do read the posts on the board, and post once in a rare while. I still have long hair, at 68, and have never cut it, although it is terminal length, a little past mid back length. Although not as long as I would like, I am still happy to have a full head of hair at my age.
Thank you again for stopping on by, and my best to you and yours.
My best,
David

Hi(gh)!
I discovered the MLHH just months after its opening in 1997... and I still regularly surf it! And I'm also still long-haired at 52, as you see...
See you in Khyberspace!

Hi(gh)!
According to your photos, your mane must have been gorgeous! Too bad they show you only from the back... did you sport a mustache? If yes, with me, this would have been evoking... er... an sensation not suitable to describe for a family-oriented website, to put it politely!
See you in Khyberspace!

It's good to hear from you folks that have responded. Glad you are all still sporting long hair proudly. I wish you well!
Peter
Hi,
I also stopped in to check out the MLHH today and saw your post.
I was active on here mainly between 2003-2008.
Anyway I full agree with all of your sentiments and it is reassuring that the MLHH still exists in this safe littel space of the internet.
Currently growing out my hair for the 4th time in my life but whether short or long, always love yourself and your fellow human beings. Acceptance of others and above all of oneself is a wonderful thing.
Cheers,
Dean
