Reviewing the photos on "Long haired Legends" Instagram page, I find a great many guys with dreads whose hair is floor-length or longer. But guys with straight or curly (but non-dreads) are very scare indeed. I can only think of Hairfreaky and Danny Cecati. Does anyone know why floor-length or longer hair is so much more prevalent among guys with dreads? Perhaps it's easier to maintain dreads? Any ideas?
Hi Marco,
I've noticed that guys with dreads, that I've seen in real life, tend to have longer length hair than the straight/curly haired ones for some reason.Generally my thought is that older guys, that still have long hair, maintain more moderate lengths while younger men are more likely to go for extreme lengths. The good news is I do see a lot more longhaired men nowadays than years ago which is nice to see. Hope all is well with you my friend btw.Cheers.

I like long hair, but personally would not want my hair to be floor length. I am much to active. To each his own.
The reason dreads can be so long is that the hairs that fall out are tangled in the dreads so the dreads continue to get longer. With free flowing hair, the hairs that fall out end up in the environment. If you have 10 year dreads, they will be 10 years of growth long. Once you make your hair into dreads, it's almost impossible to get them out without cutting off and starting over.
