Just wanted to say great job on the board, it's really looking good thanks to all the work that obviously went into this change. I miss the old format too it was very nostalgic the way it was. I was finding the old board wouldn't open in chrome any more, hopefully this new format will breathe new life into things and get some new posters.
I've been hanging around since early 2000s, no longer obsessed with doing weekly updates like I used to since my hair has been growing this 3rd time for nearly 11 yrs.
Growth seemed to slow down once it got near belt length, seems to have been at around belt length for ages (my perception/impatience/self trims don't help!!). Shoulder length to midback seemed to take no time (couple of yrs) then to belt length a few more yrs. These new pics indeed indicate it's still growing, if somewhat thinner at the ends. Just wanting to see how much longer it will grow while I still can, I do feel lucky genetically that I can still have this much hair at my age, even if the top/front is not as thick as it used to be and getting quite a v shape at the temples. Can't complain all in all!
Here's a some recent pics I took. They seem huge lol, it's a bit scary? and a bit blurry? Prob my poor camera skills and should have downscaled them sorry.
I haven't trimmed in over 2 yrs just to see how much longer it will get. I just washed it so the ponytail is super gigantic... When I go out it's normally in a bun but sometimes I like to wear a pony tail out which I normally get positive remarks over. If I wear it loose it tends to get quite annoying, stuck in car doors, constantly having to swish it out of the way, sit on it etc and gets all tangled, as well as sometimes scaring the guys when I turn around and they realize I'm a big 50 something hairy guy and not whoever they thought they were looking at.. . anyway that's all part of the fun ha ha! Hope to see more posts soon from new and old!

Hi Matt,
Welcome to our new version of the MLHH, and I’m glad that you stopped in and provided your stunning update with us. Like you, I avoid most of the social media sites, with the exception of a few videos on YouTube, as well as posting a few photos on the FierceFlow community on Reddit.
To say that I am completely blown away is an understatement, and you’ve obviously been blessed genetically. The fact that you can do this is at 50 is further proof of your genetic gift. I’m 72, have a decent head of hair for my age, but my hair can’t hold a candle to yours. My terminal length is stuck at a few inches above waist length.
What’s even more remarkable is achieving this length with curly hair. Curly hair is extremely difficult to grow super long, since the curls, by nature, subtract from the overall length, and it’s only when stretched that the true length is revealed. Your thickness is to die for as well.
I know that in the past, you were maintaining it at belt length or a bit longer. I’m glad that you’re trying to grow it as long as possible, just to see how long it will grow. From what I see, you should be good for at least a few more inches, possibly knee or even ankle length. On further thought, it looks as though it’s to your knees already.
Please don’t be a stranger, and be sure to keep us updated.
David
Thanks David! Your hair is great I hope mine is that good moving forward. Not sure if it will get to knee length it may be the way the pics are posed that makes it look that way but it's getting there, can't hurt to try :)
Will keep doing updates when I can.
Cheers,
Matt
Hi Matt,
Thank you for your kind words, and you’ve always been an inspiration. Although my hair can’t match yours, I honestly can’t complain at my age. Just having a decent head of hair at 72 is a real blessing.
I look forward to your future updates!
David
Greetings Matt, welcome to the new and improved mlhh! You can thank Jesus Forain for dedicating his time to make this happen since he has way more tech skills than I do. I was able to help him work with the host server to manage this change and actually we are on a new version 3 server.I always thought anyone could still use the old version but your mention of having issues with Chrome tells me otherwise even though its a moot point now.
As for your hair all I can say is WOW! Needless to say at your current age I don't think you'll have issues with MPB since that occurs with most guys at a younger age it seems. Whatever your doing is obviously working.Nice to see past members returning under this new format and hopefully we'll attract younger longhairs here as well. I'm proud of the fact the mlhh isn't a part of Facebook, or similar social media sites, and is its own website.Notice we don't bombard you with ads like the others do. Anyway thank you for your participation and welcome back my friend.Cheers.

Hi Mârk, thanks! I finally worked out how to do your name with the â (alt and 131 on num pad) woo hoo! It's great work Jesus Forain has done for sure and the lack of ads still is a definite plus. I'm not that tech savvy but it looks good, it still has a feel of the old site too.
I don't think I have any serious MPB, my problem is some thinning at the front in the middle, I suspect wearing it in a bun is contributing to the problem so am trying not to do the man bun thing as much unless I'm in the corporate office - I'm lucky to be able to mostly work from home where I just wear a loose ponytail. I've always had the v shape peak which isn't getting much more pronounced, it's just that center front where it parts it's looking a little thin with shorter hairs. But looking at pics it seems to have been like that for 10 + yrs now so could just be my imagination that it's getting worse.
Will be sure to keep posting and great to be here mate, cheers!
Matt
Hi Matt,
Ha ha, I finally figured out the easy way to do the â by just holding the key down a couple seconds and a bunch of options appear with the one allowing you to select â,à,á,ǎ,etc.I used to do it another way but what I described was easier. Agreed Jesus Forain really saved this site for a potential extinction. I took care of financing the site with the host server but always worried that if something happened on the technical side I'd have no clue how to fix it.Today its a whole new world and basically the rebirth of the mlhh. This should take it well into the future and the fact its not attached to any corporate interests is a major plus. We are not subject to the demands to the likes of a facebook group.I love how we are independent here and I'm sure that will appeal to more new users as they find us.
As for your hair I feel you are in a good place for the long haul.I can't detect any issues. I turn 64 next month and still have all my hair maintained around shoulder blade length which I feel is my terminal length. I do color it monthly with henna as I've been doing that consistently since around 2011.My current profile pic is an older image from around that time.I probably should think about updating it.Anyway loving the activity here the past week and having you back in the fold.Cheers my friend.

Hi Mârk
Ah OK that's simpler too!! Glad you and Jesus Forain were able to keep the site alive. Not sure if it's been thought of but I wonder if there is a way if people were inclined to donate a small amount to assist in maintaining if they liked and how that may work, without it being off-putting or feeling like an obligation to help keep it going into the future if it was needed? There must have been initial server costs and some power costs + your time of course, although I'm guessing it's a labor of love. Just a thought if it was needed. Glad to hear your hair is still long and look forward to seeing more posts from people new and old.
Cheers,
Matt.
Hi Matt,
It's been great working with Jesus these past few months getting the new mlhh set up to eventually launch. He did the bulk of the work as I was the go between with the host server since I hold the account with them. Years ago there was a donation link but we never really pushed the issue so I just took care of the finances myself when I took over the finances. If we were to restart donations I'd have to ask Jesus to set that up again as I don't even recall how monies were transferred back then since I wasn't treasurer at that time.On another note I love how the mlhh is ad free so no annoying pop ups. Frankly it makes a nicer experience for the user in my opinion.Thank you for mentioning it.Cheers my friend.

You can insert specials characters by clicking on the “Ω” symbol on the toolbar of the text editor. But it seems that some chars is missing, need to add them.
You can also add any special characters, emoji 🧔🏻♀️and change colors and style of text like any word processing program.
You can also add various images like animated GIFs. I have this one in my folder of testing images:

Great to know thanks!!!! 🧔🏻♀️
You have very long hair! It's nice to see guys like you.
The website was way outdated and didn't match the web standards of today and it wasn't useable on a smartphone. Now you can easily use it with your computer or your smartphone, I integrated latest technologies like push notifications: you receive a notification as soon as someone post on the board. You can even install the site like an app on your smartphone, it's called PWA (Progressive Web Applications).
I tried to make the user interface the most user friendly and it seems working because since the update, the website activity is high.
It was a lot of work to update the website but as a long hair guy I didn't want it to die. Don't forget that we are free here: no big tech corp, no ads, no algorithms, no tracking and spying.
Thanks for all your efforts in preserving this site, can see a lot of work has gone into it, it's great! I like your hair and all the different interesting places you take photos. I'll have to try out what you said about PWA. Previously it would only work on my phone on the old samsung web app, now it's fine on chrome too.
It's good to see high activity now.
Will be back for sure!
Matt.
I just have to say… you STILL have some of the thickest long hair I have seen on a man! I loved your videos, especially during COVID. They really helped me get through that period especially when my hair was cut without my consent. My hair isn't nearly as long as your's hair (about belt length, and I took a couple inches off just to tidy up the ends) but I'm glad to see your hair is still past your belt!
Oops I forgot to sign in when I left this message! For context here is my hair now:
Looks like your pic didn't work but I remember one you posted a few months back and it looked great!
Thanks OAD appreciated, your hair is awesome I hope you keep growing it, I remember seeing a youtube video some years ago where you described how someone made you cut it, I'm not sure of the context but I was really sorry and actually upset that happened and I'm glad to hear it's looking so great again now!
Your hair looks amazing!!! As someone who is brand new to the journey, your hair is definitely inspirational. Definitely looking forward to seeing updates and pics!!
Great to see you here Tom, hope you continue to grow your hair, it looks like it will be amazing as it grows!
Looking fwd to see your updates too :)
Matt
