So… I was chewing gum last night, and I woke up with it in my hair. yikes
My friend took the photo. ( I had to cut out the gum with ✂️ scissors)

Hi Ares,
My, this is a new one. Since I’ve never had gum in my hair, I had no idea that it was so difficult to remove. I’m sure that you tried to get rid of it the normal way, under the shower, with shampoo. I’m wondering whether slightly hotter water than usual would have softened up the gum so that it could be removed without resorting to scissors.
Hopefully, someone else will have tips as to how to remove gum from hair, in case it happens to anyone else. I’m sorry that this happened to you, though.
I edited this post to include tips on removing gum from hair without scissors, using this link. https://www.healthline.com/health/how-to-get-gum-out-of-hair#peanut-butter-and-vegetable-oils
I found this through a Google search, and peanut butter is mentioned commonly, along with any type of edible oil.

Hi Ares,
I hope you learnt the lesson!
You still have very short hair so, it's not a big loss, it shouldn't be noticeable within one month. Take care of your hair and be careful with your hair when it becomes longer, be also careful when you use tools or other dangerous things. The best is to tie your hair.
You should read On being a longhair, written by Bill, a MLHH member, it's literally the “user manual” of long hair for guys.
Hey Ares,
Wow, as David mentioned I don't ever recall this sort of problem mentioned here in all the years I've used this board.Sounds like you got sound advice from both David and Jesus.Be for warned once you actually start getting more length its vital to practice safety with longer hair especially if your job requires using certain machinery that could snag long hair. When I did HVAC field work my hair was always secured and under a baseball cap to avoid such disasters and especially outdoors in the wind is always an issue. However we longhair know how to survive and protect our manes.Cheers.
