Good day all,
Figured it was time to try my first post on the new mlhh so let’s see if it works. Taking advantage of a gorgeous day here in NJ as springtime takes hold over a long cold winter. Hopefully my photo shows otherwise I should be embarrassed as a crew member if I can’t even navigate my own site. My hair appears to be still holding up as I approach mid 60s. I’d like to again personally thank Jesus Forain for his work to update the mlhh and all those posting to help kick off the upgrade. Cheers to all friends old and new here! Cheers.

Hi Mark!
It seems your photo didnt upload! It took me a few tries ti get it right, I think I had tk resubmit it and wait for the outline around my picture to turn from red to green?
Hi OAD,
Ha ha, yea I had to keep trying and finally figured it out so it should viewable now. Cheers

Yup I can see it now! Looks great!
Hi Mark,
I’m glad that you were able to figure things out, and get your photo posted. I remember having some issues with my first ones, but fortunately, it was one small thing that I figured out myself, and having the “ edit” function was a godsend.
Your hair still looks really good, and you have maintained an excellent hairline as well, superb for early to mid 60s. The colour is cool as well, and you have definitely been the “henna king” of the MLHH, lol.
Spring has been frustratingly slow to arrive here in Nova Scotia, one of the worst in years, actually. However, I’m sure that it will get here eventually.

Good Morning David,
It took a few tries to upload my photo but eventually I got it sorted out. After awhile it'll be second nature using the new site as I actually feel its easier in a way and being able to edit it a great aspect.I remember with the old site you'd post a photo and it could end up showing upside down or rotated at a 90* angle. Next thing will be attempting to attach links.
Thank you for the compliments on my hair. I'm grateful it hasn't thinned out but nowadays I'm only able to maintain shoulder blade length.I used to be able to reach just above waist length but it hasn't been like that for awhile now. Oh and yes I'm still doing my monthly henna treatments which I do myself. I believe I've been doing henna since around 2011.I always wonder though what my natural color would be if I stopped coloring it.
Yes winter is over here in NJ but the temps keep fluctuating so it could be in the 80s one day then drop back into the 40s or 50s on another. It's been rather dry here but looks like the week ahead has some rain in it.Thanks again for your replay David.Cheers

Hi Mark,
I’m glad that you figured things out and got your photo posted. It’s great that you were so close to waist length in the past. When I met up with you sometime around 2010, I remember that you had a very long and more or less perfectly straight ponytail, and your hair was still brown, because that was before you started using the henna. I can’t recall whether it was waist length, but it was probably close.
My dream has always been waist length hair, but I fell short by a few inches. Fortunately, I haven’t noticed any real loss in length in the past few years, terminal at about ⅔ down my back or so. I have never coloured mine, and never use heat for that matter, letting it dry naturally, which takes about 2-3 hours.
One other thing that I do from time to time is minor trims of the ends to keep them in good shape, probably no more than ½, possibly 1 inch at most. Although I lose a little bit of length whenever I do it, it does grow back fairly quickly.

Hi David,
Yes i vividly remember our meetup that day in north Jersey on your way home from a road trip.I loved those days when I was actually meeting up with mlhh users back then. Nowadays its rare to have that opportunity since I don't travel a whole lot other than more local visits.
One thing I should do more of is maintenance trims of my hair. Mostly I just let it do its thing as I maintain the color. It's just that I'd need to set aside time for it and not be in a hurry. Still I'm satisfied with the hair I currently have despite the fact it isn't as long as it once was but still full. Cheers.

Hi Mark,
Actually, I don’t do the trims that often, and they are minor, since I hate losing length, and in reality, I should probably take off more than I do each time I do one. I just look for the thin ends, and snip them off, and it only takes a few minutes. There are times, though, when I wonder whether to even bother, and whether it would make a big difference anyway. So there’s no problem in you just letting your hair do its own thing.
It’s been ages since I’ve travelled, and one reason is that the border crossing is very stressful, and I wouldn’t even dream of travelling to the USA now. I’m not going to get into politics, but I’m sure that you understand what I mean. I’m just as content staying home, enjoying my walks along a trail near my home to keep myself relatively fit, and playing a little bit of golf in the summer.

Hi David,
I've been doing the no trimming thing for so long, and having no negative effects, I figured it really wasn't necessary with the exception of cutting out the occasional knot that I can't undo first. The knots are always near the ends so I guess you can say that's the extent of my trimming.
Sadly my long distance travel ended when Covid happened.I used to travel to California annually but haven't made that trip since late 2019. I still travel into PA from Jersey or maybe NYS but that's kind of been about it.I haven't left the country probably since the early 2000s which was only a road trip into Canada. Mainly its just that I lack the desire and hassle of travel especially if it involves air travel.Guess I'm getting old! LOL. Who knows maybe someday I'll get the travel bug again but I hear ya.Cheers.
