I'm ditching this board, again.
People here do not seem to care about growing their hair. Or seeking advice about doing so.
Hi Cicero,
I admit that I was surprised to read your post this morning, especially your comment about us not caring about growing long hair. Of course we care about growing long hair, and I’m not aware of anyone who posts here who doesn’t care about growing their long hair. One thing that you have to remember is that most of us are not as blessed as you in your ability to grow extremely long hair, and that’s due to genetics. Terminal length varies for all of us.
Naturally, I would love to be able to grow mine longer, and I do my utmost to care for it so that it grows as long as possible. Despite having good hair for my age of 72, I’m still stuck with a terminal length a few inches above my waist.
I sincerely hope that there wasn’t anything that I or anyone else said that offended you. In particular, I know that I commented on your message about Philip’s bangs, but I was simply expressing my own opinion, and also qualified my comment as well, so I hope that wasn’t the issue. Hopefully, we can persuade you to stay and provide inspiration.
David
Hey Cicero,
Well I have to admit your post was unexpected this morning since we've had a great relaunch of the mlhh in its new format. Not sure why you came to your conclusion as this hyperboard has been nothing but supportive in all the years I've been here.I feel we have a more personal touch here compared the longhair groups on Facebook and such.Years ago it was suggested to move this site to Facebook but I never liked that idea.Anyway not to get off topic so I hope you reconsider but everyone has their own idea what they want out of a social media site. Good luck in your future endeavors as I hope we at least made some sort of impact for you.Cheers.

Hi Cicero,
Your post made me sad. I don't understand why you said that we don't care about growing our hair on a website dedicated to long haired guys.
I discovered the MLHH few years ago and as a longhair, I found a place to meet others guys like me and I don't feel alone anymore with my long hair. I've also searched if other websites like this one exists but they don't. Of course there is many Facebook groups but it's not the same thing, you are annoyed by ads, algorithms and many spy trackers. I don't like all these big tech companies that impose theirs rules on the Internet.
On the MLHH it's freedom, it's an independent website without ads or trackers, it's just a community that gather long hair guys around the world for almost 30 years! During all these years, It has become an incredible source of informations and advices about long hair for guys. There's no other resource like this one on the Internet.
What makes me also sad is that I've spent time to contribute to the website by making a new interface which meets today web standards and which is user friendly. But the good surprise is that since the update, there's new messages every day, I didn't expect that because before the update the website was almost dead with a post every two months.
I always see long hair guys as friendly people. I hope see you again here with your hyperlong hair.
Hi Jesus,
You couldn’t have said it better, and I don’t even have accounts at places like Facebook or Instagram. You hit the nail on the head that this community feels more like a “home away from home”, far more than those sites could ever aspire to be. Although I enjoy Reddit, and FierceFlow, it still doesn’t have the “homey” feel that we have here.
Also, I, and I’m sure that many others, appreciate all of the hard work that you have put into our site to make it even better, and you are spot on about the fact that we’re getting a lot more activity now.
Like you, I am deeply saddened that Cicero is leaving, and his reasons seem especially puzzling, and I have no idea why he would even think that we’re not dedicated to long hair. Hopefully, at the least, he is reading our comments and contemplating a return at some point in the future.

Hi Jesus, your reply was very well stated as I don't really have much more to add between what you and David already stated.I've been a member here since 2005 and have found this a great place to hang out and shoot the breeze about hair or about our personal interests.I've even met several members here in real life just because of the mlhh community. You've done an outstanding job breathing new life into the hyperboard taking it into the future which it sorely needed.Hopefully Cicero eventually realizes this and comes back. Anyway thanks for all your support improving the user experience here as it certainly shows.Cheers.

Huh? All I have ever seen here are posts from people who care about growing their hair. There are not a lot of us who frequent this board these days, but the ones who are here are wonderful. And…the thing about advice is, one should feel free to give it, and then let it go - no one has to follow anyone's advice. Anyway, good luck to you. Take care of your hair, you have years put into it and it is marvelous, regardless of your abrupt and mystifying departure.
Philip
Hi Philip,
Well said! Thumbs up!
David
I respect that, Cicero. By the way, I do care about growing out my hair.
