Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying the nice spring weather. Today, I’m doing something a little different by posting a couple of videos from my YouTube channel. I hope that this works.
I’ve always felt that seeing long hair in motion can show it much better than any still photo could. The first video, that I took a few months ago, shows my hair indoors, in motion. As usual with indoor photos, the hair looks lighter than it actually is.
The second video was taken while I was walking outside a couple of days ago, while walking, with my hair blowing in the wind. With the outdoor lighting, the natural silvers show better.
I guess that my hair doesn’t look too bad considering that I’ll be 73 in less than 3 months. I have a couple of other videos on my YouTube channel as well.

It seems that this didn’t work totally, and one still needs to click on the links to see the videos. There were a couple of other members who posted videos here recently, and in those, you can see a “preview”, and the “play” button, but it’s not visible in mine. I wish I knew what I need to do to enable these to display properly. Another possibility is that because I am linking to a “short” rather than a true video, some options are different.
Bug fixed!
The regex for URL of YouTube shorts wasn't in the list so, the video wasn't replaced. I've added it, you have to just paste the URL of the video inside your message.
Hi Jesus,
Thank you for fixing this for me! You just need someone like you with excellent computer skills to know what went wrong.
David
(PS. I also edited out my comment in the original video about it not working, to avoid confusion, since you fixed the issue)
Good Morning David,
Just saw your post this morning with the video links, which worked perfectly for me, so good thing I missed the problem you described before Jesus came to the rescue. You are so fortunate to have such a great head of hair at your age as I just turned 64 last Tuesday so I'm a bit behind you in age but thankfully my mane is still solid.Maybe not as long as yours but no visible thinning. However I always wonder what my natural color is at this juncture but the henna covers that up.Someday I'd like to know but not sure I'd want to give up on henna as I've been doing that since around 2011.Regardless we are both fortunate with our hair at this juncture in our lives.Keep up the great work and do more videos my friend.Cheers.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your kind words, and yes, I feel fortunate to have the hair that I have at 72, and less than 3 months from 73.
I have always rather enjoyed the silvers as they slowly took over my formerly medium to dark brown mane. The hair in indoor photos or videos always looks a bit lighter than it actually is, and the outdoor video shows the true colour.
If you decide to stop the henna, it would be so cool to see your true hair colour. You might start getting a few nice silvers of your own!
David
Hi David,
I occasionally think about what my natural color would be without the henna being as I noted its been colored since around 2011.Trouble is if I wanted to go that route it would take awhile to see the full effect since henna doesn't fade but grows out over time. The one aspect of the henna I appreciate is that it makes me look much younger than I am since I also do the facial hair too. Don't get me wrong as I embrace my age but if I can easily have a younger look with hair coloring why not.Not sure that was my thought back in the beginning but now its paying dividends.Still the main objective is to just still have long hair ;) Anyway supposed to get really hot here in NJ the next three days so have to try and stay cool and be grateful I don't have to work on rooftops anymore on broken AC equipment.Cheers.

Hi Mark,
I appreciate your feelings for the henna, and if it works for you and you like it, I’d stay with it. I’ve just let my hair gradually change over the years, and I like the silvery white anyway.
After a rather raw, cold and miserable April and first week of May, our weather has taken a huge turn for the better in the last week or so. It could even reach the mid 80s F, or 30 C, here on Wednesday, quite remarkable for Nova Scotia at this time of year. I will probably need to turn on the AC for the first time in the next day or two.

Hi David,
Yes I really do like the look of my hair with henna and admit I receive quite a few positive comments on the color so I'm guess its compelling enough that people will even approach me and give me the encouragement. With that said I'll keep doing it as I enjoy the process of applying it and it doesn't take all that long to do in addition to I don't need a salon.
As far as the weather today is the mid point of our current heat wave that's predicted to reach the mid 90s *f. Only good point is the humidity is still very low so not oppressive like when we finally get into summer. Still I love the warmer weather months over winter hands down.Enjoy the milder days David :) Cheers

Hi Mark,
That’s awesome that you’re getting positive comments, so by all means, keep doing what you’re doing!
I’m not a fan of heat, and mid 90s never even occurs around here. The weather here has just been pleasantly warm, although tomorrow might get a bit more uncomfortable. Thursday and into next week looks to be very nice, though, and mostly in the low 60s.
