Hi(gh)!
Finally I have lost enough weight to no longer hide a double (or even triple) chin behind my “talibeard”… so I made quick work of it and left only the mustache:

I hope to soon get some additional pictures showing me in my “natural environment” online here…
Ditching the long silvery beard was quite a relief - I got sick of the constant “Santa Claus!" comments in public! And I think this also signals a departure from my decades-long obsession with Afghanistan as a role model for personal aesthetics in appearance… my white pakol might well block oppressive summer sun, but I think a white (faux) leather durag, preferably with waist-long tail, will perform as well. Generally, “leather” is the keyword for my future style!
See you in my swamp!

Hey there Yadger,
First off congratulations on the weight loss as that alone will help your health as you get older just like all the rest of us.I do hear you about the beard as I used to support a sort of “mountainman” style beard for many years until I got tired of it and shaved it back considerably. Of course mine would be gray also but I colored it to cover that up.The main thing is that your still sporting the longhair so awesome. I'd love to see more images showing its true length when you get around to it.Great to hear from you as the mlhh takes on its new life in its new format.Cheers.

I wonder how people might react to my new look - I'm in Germany, where full beards of any length are near omnipresent, but mustaches, especially in combo with long hair, have faded into obscurity decades ago…
Hi Yadgar,
My hearty congratulations to you for losing so much weight, and you’re looking awesome here. To have or not have a beard is a personal preference, and despite my thick, silvery white beard, I’ve never had to deal with Santa Claus comments, because it isn’t particularly long. You look great without the beard here.
Your hair looks fabulous, and you seem to have a great hairline as well. I was wondering how long your hair is now? Has it reached your waist? It would be great to see a full length photo, from the back.
I’m 72 myself, have a decent head of hair, but sadly, my terminal length is several inches short of my “dream length”, which is waist length or longer.
I am curious to know how old you are to sport such a fabulous mane, but if you’d rather not say, I fully understand. However, anyone who can grow super long hair, and I mean past waist length, after they have passed 60 is genetically blessed. Although I have the “keep my hair “ genes, I don’t have the “grow past waist length “ genes.
