Hello everyone,
I have been asked a number of times to post a ponytail photo, especially on another site where I post. I never take a particularly good ponytail photo, have been avoiding the issue, but “for the record “, I will include one here. I did it by the old “reflection in the mirror” technique, and my apologies for the poor quality photo. I live alone, so don’t have anyone around to take a “proper” photo. Maybe I can get a better one posted later.
Thanks for reading!
David

Hi,
You look awesome with a ponytail, nice that you post a photo of you with a ponytail. What's incredible with long hair is that you can have multiple hairstyles like ponytail, braid and bun.
Hi Jesus,
Thank you for your kind words, and yes, I thought of you when I posted this, because you asked over on Reddit, and that was several months ago, lol. Several others over there asked me as well. Maybe one day I’ll do a braid, but I’ll have to ask for help with that.
My hair looks shorter here, because I’m bending forward, manipulating the phone, but if I stand more upright, it’s a few inches from my waist.

You can learn braiding by yourself, that's what I did.
It took me one week to be able to braid my hair, while watching TV I had practicing braiding. It's not easy because you don't see what you are doing and the position is uncomfortable, you'll have some pain in your arm muscles.
I tried again and again until I success.
Start like if you are doing a ponytail. Split your hair in 3 equals strands; this step isn't easy. Put the left strand in the middle then the right strand in the middle, left strand in the middle and so on.
Hi Jesus,
Thank you for the pointers. My hair isn’t as thick as yours in back, but I assume that there should be enough for a braid. When I have lots of free time, I will give it a try. Although a ponytail is second nature to me, since I wear one almost all the time outside, a braid is another matter entirely.

Hi David,
Nice update of your hair being tailed since most of us restrain our hair when out and about. I hear you about the challenge of taking these kind of pics as a solo photographer. I guess you can always try a selfie stick or a regular camera tripod which I used to use with my digital camera that had a timer feature. However I haven't used that camera in years since all my photos are now done on my phone as its so much easier.Still your pic came out nicely as your tail is clear and prominent. Thanks for the update and stay cool these hot summer days my friend.Cheers!

Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for your kind words. If I can find someone to take a better photo, I’ll definitely do so. I actually wear it tailed almost the entire time outside, but occasionally will let it free if it’s a nice day. All my photos are taken with my phone, and I plan to get a new one soon.

Hi David,
Your ponytail looks great, as always your hair looks fantastic - thick and healthy. I appreciate how you seem to have tied it somewhat loosely, I think this is how I will tie my hair back once it's long enough.
Thanks for sharing this photo!
Philip
Hi Philip,
Thank you for your kind words. I prefer to wear a loose ponytail to protect my hairline as much as possible, even if it slips occasionally. While golfing, though, and trying to keep my hair well secured, I will do an extra loop.
I’m looking forward to seeing your hair long enough for a ponytail!
David
