Its been documented:
You see redheads in close sequence,
followed by long periods of seeing NONE whatsoever.
Youll see 5 in an afternoon and then NONE for two weeks!!!
This is the REDHEAD CLUSTER Phenomenon...
If you watched several 100 people pass by, you would average 3 redheads per 100 people...
...assuming an even distribution, about 1 out of every 30 people would have RED hair...
We observe no redheads at all for days at a time, then an enormous number of them in a single afternoon!
This is off topic from the original string, but I've always wondered why they call it red hair when in reality if you compare it to, say, a red crayon its not even close to the same color. My hair is very light brown but people always just call it red when its really more of an orange shade. I've noticed the same thing w/ strawberry blondes. I have yet to meet someone with natural fire-engine red hair.lol
It's because you compare it to other hair, not to crayons. Compared to other hair, say, brown hair, it is red. This is similar to calling blue roses blue, when they are nothing of the sort.
...exactly...
..and just as some people are described as 'red skinned'...
..they are not really.
...'Carrot-top' may be a more accurate description, but then again,
you don't really want to say: Brunettes, Blondes and ummmm Carrot-tops"...now do you? .....he..he
Besides, reak carrot tops are green.
The epitome of (natural) "red" I would say, is the comedian Carrot Top. But its really more orange. All the male, and most of the female natural "redheads" I see have curly or frizzy hair, and its orange. They should change the term to orange, Since apparently nobody really has natural red hair, and some people have natural orange hair. And the stereotypical cartoon Scottsmen Leprechaun looks orange, not red.
Some light brown and dark brown haired boys and girls have a burgundy tone mixed in..I think burgundy is closer to red than orange.
And strawberry blondes aren't redheads at all, thats ridiculous.
I wonder if that study included dyed, highlighted, and streaked red. I bet there are more people who add red to their hair than natural ornage/"redheads."!
Its getting more and more popular.
How come some many people change "dishwater blonde," or any shade of brown?
I'm a guy, I've got dishwater blond, and I think it sucks and I want to change it. But I can't.
Bleach blonde would look even worse, Black would look nasty in contrast to my skin. Red and brown would look very bad very soon after I dyed it, as soon as the roots grew in, which look blond when short. Same with punk colors.
I've been losing a lot of sleep over this. Ha ha no, just a rant, sorry.
Long, short, colored, natural, enjoy your hair.
I'll do my best to take my own advice.
