I need some contributions about hair extensions?
How comfortable this is?
How expensive?
What're the risks and drawbacks?
Nothafe
hi.....I had long hair at the back.... down to my .lower back.....and I wanted to go one length all over,so I tried hair extensions.
Mine were monofibre...not real hair. They looked great BUT......when wet,it felt like sandpaper on my skin........
women loved it and always wanted to touch it,but it was sooooooo dry and course......if they/you ran your hands over it
you could feel the joins.......in the end I felt so false.......it wasnt all me.....I got paranoid that people would notice it was fake...
so I ended up taking them out myself......you had to spray an anti static spray on it constantly ( fire risk hahaha) and I felt the brushing needed to make it look good, damaged my own hair......soooooooooooooooooooooooo......I dont recommend it...BUT...each to there own

Hi,
A few years back I had to cut my hair short, because a hairdresser had damaged it with color. I cut it to my shoulders, but to me that was still too short.
I have a friend that did her own hair extensions and suggested we put some in mine. I can get wholesale products as I used to be a hairdresser.
I bought 24" long, human hair. We applied it with Monkey Barrz Wax. We'd take a piece of the hair (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch) melt the wax with a glue gun, apply it to the end, and attach it underneath a piece of my hair the same width and roll the wax to form a seal.
I loved them, it made my hair so long and thick. You can feel the beads of wax at your scalp, the thicker the piece the more you can feel the wax.
You should braid it before washing it before bed.
The downside, was every few months you'd have to removed them and put them closer to the scalp again, the wax is very hard to get out (with plyers and oil) and a long process. I did lose some of my own hair, but when I finally tooke them out, my hair had grown substantially, was healthy and I left them out.
If you get it done professionally (which is what I wish I'd have done) They may use wax, but they may also braid it in, that is supposed to be more comfortable. You're looking at probably between $200 - $500 the first time, then half that for follow ups.
Cheers!
Lori
