This site was created as a haven for those of us men with long hair as well as a place to promote the growing of long hair. I have set up certain guidelines that as much as possible are designed to ensure this goal. I have mixed feelings, however, about posts regarding selling hair. I certainly don't want this site to turn into one where the buzz crowd come to advertise. OTOH, selling long hair does relate to long hair, and I can think of circumstances where it's not even at odds with the promotion of long hair.
OK. Now for your comments. Should these posts be prohibited/encouraged/ignored here?
I don't mind it, I don't plan on ever selling my hair, but don't see why the posts would be a problem, as others may be interested.
I agree whole heartedly. Doesn't bother me.
I think it's ok. Basically, most of us at one time or another will eventually cut our hair and this gives us the outlet to make a little money off of it at the same time. Most of the ones I've read haven't been encouraging the cutting of one's hair but are letting us know something we can do with it if we have to or decide to. Also, I see a lot of post asking for information about places to sell it so there must be a need for it when cutting time comes. No problem.
I think, these posts should just be ignored.
If you don't want to have personal ads here (which -so far-
always have been related to long hair), you don't want to
have selling hair ads, right?
Btw., what do you think about a personal ad discussion group
at the-light.com?
I guess many of us are keen to meet other guys with long hair
(gays or straights). At least I am.
And, the-light.com is much more frequented by international
people than most other long hair related sites.
So, what do you think about this, Victor?

PS: Hope you understand my english, as I'm from Switzerland...
Just leave them alone. At least these posts may be of interest to someone with long hair. Who knows, even though they don't interest me right now...I may be looking for their posts one day.

Well, if there is enough general interest here, I'll set one up. I may want a volunteer to be the administrator.
It's great English.
I, for one, think they are pretty entertaining. I'd just leave them a lone. I think they probably have a place here on the board.
Just ignore them. They're not doing any harm and who knows we might need them one day.
I agree. Doesn't bother me. Figure the only people who would be bothered by it are those people who aren't secure with their long hair.
It's really no big deal dude. Just ignore them.
No problem, besides sometimes they're interesting to read.
I agree. I'm cool with them being here and really have no problem with them.
Just two cents worth from someone who writes some of those buying hair posts:
1. These posts add hits to your board (presumably a desireable thing).
2. Judging from the number of folks I am talking regarding the sale of their hair, there seems to be a fairly consistent interest in this topic. It's better to give someone an opportunity to make some money from their hair rather than just let it go into the trash bin, if it's going to be cut anyway (which is the case most of the time when someone expresses interest).
3. The posts for buying hair--including my own and others I have seen-- are labelled clearly enough. If long hair is such an ideological thing to some people that they cannot even bear to read these posts, they are easy enough to avoid.
So, while I'm at it, I'll re-iterate my offer to men's long hair (perferably shoulder length or longer. I am particularly interested in ponytails. If interested, please drop me an email. Thanks.

I would find such posts offensive here if they were derogatory toward long hair or were outright encouraging people to cut hair, since those postures run contrary to the shared values of the community we have built here.
I would also feel such messages with a hair-cutting-fetish overtone to be inappropriate, since that is how our community feels about all fetish messages, even those that portray long hair in a positive light.
Otherwise, I have no problems with such posts.
I say just leave them alone. They're not really hurting anyone. That's my two cents.
I agree, just ignore them. They're no threat.
DITO, I AGREE
Not a big thang.
Most of the one's I've read aren't really encouraging us to cut our hair but offering an outlet for it if we do. I wouldn't bother them. They're really not hurting anything.
I agree with most of the posts here, they probably have a place here. Let em be.
perhaps a seperate board, site or links page devoted to those who wish to sell or purchase hair. i am making the reckless assumption that people will respect that and not continue posting such material on this board. i'm not personally opposed to such postings but i don't sense a wholehearted endorsement on the part of the webmaster.
I really don't think there is a need for a separate board. It's not like they're taking up the whole board so I think there is room for all of us here including the hair buyers. From reading the posts over a long period of time you see quite often some guys ready to take the plunge back into short hair and they ask if anyone know of someone who is buying hair. So, just let them be.
