Well, fall is almost here and the new TV season has caused a whole new ream of commercials to come out as well. I've noticed more than a few of these have long haired guys in them...and hardly any "buzzcuts" are featured anymore.
Target, Eternity, VW, Gap... these are trend setting advertisers, so my guess is they are pushing long hair as the "new" look.
Have you guys seen any more like this? What is your opinion?
(advertising and marketing are my business, so i tend to look a bit closer at this kind of stuff)
I go thru the paper and on sundays is when all the ads are out. I noticed a lot of longer hair, I define long as shoulder length or more, and some had long hair, some were longish. Usally it is the models in the younger mens clothing, but a few in the more proffessional older mens clothing to. I will have to look again this sunday, but the last two it has been quite a suprise in the paper.
As for on tv, I haven't seen too many yet. And I will keep looking
Only TRUE Longhairs and...ummmmm...maybe models have the necessary...
desire & drive to grow and maintain their hair long...
....all others will eventually give up
Don't forget people who can't afford haircuts.
The Rev
....he..he...
And that reminds me of just one of the comebacks to say when told: "Get a haircut."
Comeback: "Are YOU going to pay for it?"
My wife has subscriptions to a couple of womens magazines and there seems to be a lot more of the men in the ads these days with shoulder length hair.
