i WAS going to post this on the beard board but it dosent seem to be in existence anymore
i know about losing a certain amount of hair each day is normal but i was wondeing if it is the same amount with beards, i've been growing a LONG ZZ-Top style beard for about a month now and i seem to notice alot of it coming out each day, is this normal as in the same as head hair?
I have had a beard of some type for 20 years. I know that facial hair and head hair are different in many ways, texture, color, etc. I have never noticed facial hair falling out--whereas my head hair lets go of quite a few each day, as we all note here from time to time. How much are you seeing from your beard fall out?

I've only had a beard for around 2.5 years, but as it has gotten longer, I too have noticed a large number of strands coming out each day. Mine are usually the longest ones, as they seem to have weaker roots. Have you noticed this sort of pattern?
Yes. The longer my beard was the more I'd notice long beard hairs falling out.
