Got a question. I have read where some on this board will wash their hair with conditioner only. They will rinse their hair with clean water to rid themselves of the dirt and then use a conditioner. Normally I shampoo about every four days. I use conditioner every time I shampoo, because I believe it to be good for my hair and I like the way it feels.
The other day I just rinsed my hair and used only my usual conditioner. Did not have that same clean feel as I was rinsing out the conditioner as it normally does. Has anyone had the same experience?
Thanks in advance!!

I tried that a while back...
Water & Conditioner only = build uP...Yuk!
Tell me about it.
You need to use a decent, lighter conditioner usually referred to as a creme rinse. Creme rinse "lightly" cleans your hair while conditioning at the same time. Many of the cheaper conditioners do build up, they definately do not all work the same (wax=bad). As I've said before, I've had great results with Aussie's daily conditioners like Moist and also the detangler called Slip (maybe it's the fish oils they use), but there are others out there as well (what do you use?). Well-conditioned hair should seem "flatter" than hair that is damaged and sticks together because it won't clump as easily and is "slicker". Your hair just may not respond to that but quite often it's the brand that is the problem.
Thanks for the advice. I have been using a Suave conditioner because that was what we already had. It is almost gone, so I will look into some of the ones that you have suggested.
Thanks again.

Every four days?! How can you stand that? Yes, I understand that everyone's body chemistry, etc. is different, but how can you go four days without washing your hair? Doesn't it get nasty? Doesn't it smell? Please fill me in because I really do not understand at all.
Personally, I shampoo and condition my hair every morning in the shower...sometimes (most of the times) on the weekends I even shampoo & condition twice a day depending on what is planned for the night.
I keep a big / large toothed comb / pick in the shower at all times and comb the conditioner through my hair so that every inch of my hair is getting conditioned. I also, only use moisture-rich shampoos and moisture-rich conditioners. The blow dryer I use is one of those that has the heat sensitive indicators on it so that once it senses your hair has reached a certain temperature it will then start blowing out cooler air...so as not to dry out your hair....$20 or so at Wal-Mart.
Also, Hair Religion is correct...Aussie Moist RULES!!!...plus it smells awesome too.
I work in an office and so I really don't get that hot and sweaty. So no, my hair doesn't smell. Like you say, everyone's chemistry is slightly different, because there are people on this board who wash their hair once a week with no problems. My wife washes her everyday because she has to.
I just thought I would try what I had read some other had done. Didn't really like the results, so I'll stick with what works for me. I probably will try the Aussie Moist at some time, because I've seen that Hair Religion knows what he's talking about.
Thanks for your help.
Whatever works for you is fine by me...whether it be once a day, once a week, etc. you know what works best for you better than I know what works best for you. I'm simply a hygiene fanatic...the hair "must" be clean, the body "must" be clean, the teeth "must" be clean, etc. Keep posting here, because you can learn some good info. Take care.
