Every now and then someone here will post how they were mistaken for a woman. Well, the other day I had the opposite experience.
I was driving home and had to stop at a red light. There waiting to cross using the crosswalk was what I took to be a guy with a rather odd hair style. He had ONLY bangs. In other words, he had a buzz cut everywhere except in the front his hair was about 5 or 6 inches long. And BRIGHT RED.
Then I got a profile view and was able to tell he was really a girl.

Whether male or female, it doesn't sound like a pleasant sight to me. To each his/her own I suppose?!
I actually like the "out there hair" styles some women wear. BALD being one of them. One of my favorite sites is www.haircut.net. If you look there now, the girl on the front page, IMHO, looks better with her head shaved than with hair.
Where do you live? That hairstyle is quite common. I used to have it, actually. Low maint, and you can cut it yourself.
Actually that was a quiet common hair style for skaters. Tony Hawk even had that style when He ws first starting out.
its called "burr and a bumper" i believe
