i think i may be going grey already, and i'm only 20 years old! what do you think would be the best thing to do?
dye it or just leave it? i've heard dye can damage your hair
but how bad would it be?
Lucky you!--for two reasons. We have an expression in the (hair)industry: "If it grays, it stays". In other words, those who are fortunate to have their hair gray before they begin to lose it will not lose it. Second, you will be "diagnosed" with what I call the "Richard Gere syndrome": young complexion with prematurely gray hair--a real sexy combination!! (By the time most of us end up with gray hair we also have a gray complexion) So my advice: just leave it...and ENJOY it!
I guess I'm destined to have hair forever then! Yippeeee! I began going grey at 18! Yes! 18! I liked it then because it gave me a more mature look. But now? Well, let's just say I "control" the grey a little. I don't dye my hair in a traditional way though. It just grows out and leaves grey roots. What I do is dye parts of it at different times. It controls the grey, but doesn't eliminate all of it, and there's no obvious or radical change in color since my hair has a few shades of brown all over mixed with some grey.
I personally don't think grey is sexy at all. It was cool when I was young, but not now that I'm almost 40.
My advice to the original poster is just to let it go and use "Just For Men" beard gel and do small touchups every now and then.
Just ride it out...if u do go grey then I personally wouldn't dye it.. cost will get ridiculous as roots begin to show.
Is there a way to force oneself to go grey early? What precisly takes place when hair starts going grey? What causes it to take place? (Aside from age, as it obviously happens to younger people too, and don't just say 'genes', as I'm wanting to know just what those genes or whatever do that makes hair turn grey, early or otherwise)
I have 2 grays right now, is that common or does that mean I'm going grey. BTW, I'm 20.
I'm sixteen and have quite a few grey hairs, it's normal
Personally, I find the combination of gray hair and a young face to be irresistibly sexy. I wouldn't mess around with dyes at all; just let it be the color God made it, and work on your confidence.
