Went out and bought one of those U shaped solid hair bands
the other day. It hold the bangs back, look pretty cool.
Anybody else ever use hair bands like this ?
You're talking about a headband. There are actually two different styles of headbands:
1) Cloth - they wrap completely around your head and tie off in the back.
2) Horse Shoe - These are usually made of plastic, and are designed to "comb" your hair back and hold it in place.
You purchased a Horse Shoe style headband. I've tried a couple on myself, but only for a few seconds. They don't look good on me. Cloth hearbands are more my style, though I've never tried wearing one vertically (on top of my head, above my forehead).

I've actually tried that, I always had to clean my glasses before putting them back on. Very annoying. I haven't worn my sunglasses on my head in years.
