Hi.
I'd like to know if using hair dryer for a few minutes on a daily basis can damage the hair.
Thanks,
Adi.
Unfortunately, the answer is it all depends. Fine hair is more easily damaged than thicker hair. Also, many dryers have different heat settings, and the low setting might not be that bad at all. You should try to keep moving the dryer around and not concentrate all the heat in one spot. Finally, there are various products you can get designed to protect your hair from heat damage when styling.
I'd recommend use the lowest heat settings you can for the least time necessary, and if you start to notice damage try using one of the products to protect your hair (or dry/style your hair some other way).
Naw, a couple of minutes a day won't hurt it.
I don't see the big deal on hair dryers. I've used one every day and my hair is shoulder length with no split ends or any damage. I've even seen my hair under a microscope and nothing at all looked even a little damaged.
Hair dryers did a number on my longhair years ago (I used in the hot setting BTW with a straightening brush)-I shaved it all off and now I'm growing it again and lettin it air dry. I have wavy/curly hair, though-it's really fragile.
Straight hair is stronger-do u have straight hair?
I don't think this is true, at least not without clarification. Unflexed hair is stronger than flexed hair. When you brush straight hair, you are not flexing it as much as when you brush curly hair. It's not that the hair itself is weaker but that you are forcing it to flex more because it's curly. That's why it's better to use a pick for curly hair.
I can't use one...and I've tried low...low...low...almost cold but...
...well...can you say 'WildMan' look...
Natural air-dried is the only thing that works for me...
